42 maybe the answer but it still doesn't answer what the question really is.

personally I think its all to do with pain and suffering
why do people think it's 42?
the question was "what is the meaning of live"
Not: "what is the answer to the greatest question" unless the greatest question is:
"what is the meaning of live". problem solved?

I conjecture that everyone has their own meaning of life, since you have your own purpose of life.
My meaning of life involves taking over the world.

Acording to Christianity it's to worship God, but according to me (Who also happens to be a Christian) it can be anything you want it to be.

First, my hat comes off to the other people with far too much exposure to "Hitchhiker's...", I salute you.

OT: The meaning of life is to live it. Even if your choice or circumstance is to sit on the couch all day licking the Frito crumbs from the corner of your mouth, there is meaning in that. The question is how much do you want your life to be worth to you? The day you die, you stop caring about what anyone else thought, about that time you looked like a total jackass, about those opportunities missed. The question is, right here and right now, is that all you want? Self pity?

If you're happy with that, then you really don't need anything else. The meaning to life is finding the motivation to pursue your own happiness, and to pursue it despite the fact that there are people and circumstances out there whose own purpose is to stop you.

Anything but 42.

[sub]damn overrated thing[/sub]

But as for the answer, I'd say: Having fun. What's the point of being here if you can't enjoy it?

It's just to have fun, really.

Nobody wants to say "That sucked" on their deathbed.

Life's not that serious.
