Being alive and "living" are not the same thing.
No no no, let me set you right on this:
'Living - Adjective
1. Possessing life.
2. In active function or use.
3. Of persons who are alive.
4. Relating to the routine conduct or maintenance of life.
5. Full of life, interest, or vitality: made history a living subject.
6. True to life; realistic: the living image of her mother.
7. Informal Used as an intensive: beat the living hell out of his opponent in the boxing match.'
As you can see, being alive and living are very much the same thing. There are different
qualities of life, but they are all living.

These are commandments (Rules) from God Himself. Everyone on the planet is expected to obey them. They do apply to every one weather they believe or not. Why do you think Christians are so persistent in telling people about Jesus?
You're applying definitive logic here, which I'm afraid you just can't do. As a Christian it is your choice to follow the rules of God. As an Atheist it is my choice to not follow them. If these laws are compulsary, there would be punishment for them, which there is no definitive proof of punishment or even reward. This isn't a debate about religion here, so I'll stop with that.
