I'd say its "The Book of Unwritten Tales". A point'n'click from 2009.
It basically sold me on the whole genre.
The art style and characters are just so funny and cute.
I'd recommend it to everyone,
but unfortunately its just available in german...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Oddworld Abe's Odyssey or Abe's Exodus yet. They were both very charming.

Great, now I can't get the song by The Smiths out of my mind.

Little King's Story
I was gonna post a video but couldn't find one that does it justice.
The music, the gorgeous environment, the quirky (sometimes ridiculous) enemies.
Everything about it screams charm, I guarantee if it was a better known game I wouldn't be the only one saying this.
Yes. It's a beautiful game that has tons of depth. It's too bad the art style and the fact that it was on the Wii ruined its appeal.
I assume you mean its appeal to self proclaimed "mature" gamers?
Cuz the art style and the fact that it was for the Wii were very much positive features in my eyes.

Nowadays a game apparently isn't worth looking at if it doesn't have tits, gore or preferably both.
Yeah, that's what I meant. It's superb but ignored, supporting the notion that the brown and gray multi-septillion FPS will always win.

For sure I'd have to say Little Big Planet and Machinarium.
Not only are they superb games but they do just radiate warmth and fuzziness :p

Super Mario Galaxy and nearly all light hearted or epic or saft Nintendo games, basically all of them in some way or another.

I'm guessing this will be an unpopular decision, but I really found the new Prince of Persia to be charming. From the music to the simple gameplay and the fun dialogue, I really enjoyed the game and found it to be relaxing, a pleasure, and quite charming

Katamari Damacy such a simple game and the most awesomest character in The King of All Cosmos.
All those Katamari games charm the hell out of me. Katamari Damacy is the initial reason I got a ps2... well, one of them. I really liked the crash junctions in Burnout 3.

In fact Burnout 3 and Revenge are both quite charming as well. They have racing in them but they are far beyond the racing genre. In fact, I'm not a racing game fan but I love those two games.

Katawa Shoujo. It's a dating sim by 4chan where the cast is full of disabled girls. It is a hell of alot better than you'd think.

Paper Mario, Banjo Tooie/Kazooie and that might be it. No wait, Donkey Kong 64, I love the childish feel of the games.

Multiwinia.
Sure there are lasers, explosions, and immolation...
But it's still pretty tame...

Plus 10 awesome points to you.
I really wish more people would give this game the credit it deserves. Not only is it fun and charming, but it offers something relatively unique compared to most recent games.
