Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG.

This is the first game I remember actually "charming" me, everything about this game was an absolute delight.

Another one that hasn't been mentioned yet is Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The gameplay was accessible and the story was unique and well-told. I think I'm going to replay it before the impending movie inevitably butchers it horribly.

Team Fortress 2 is just wonderful in that regard.

What? I think the dark humor is charming as hell.

Well aside from that, I guess parts of games like Mass Effect 1/2's romance bits was also quite heartwarming.

I don't play many "nice" games, I guess...

Portal, listen to the gun turrets when you kill them. And the song "still Alive' is epically cute.

I think Portal is probably the very definition of a "charming" game. That was the whole point of the game's short story: Endearing yet homicidal computers, adorable turrets, and a ten- minute-long melodrama involving the untimely death (by your own hand!) of an inanimate object.

Anyway, I'd say that the first time I played Band of Bugs on Xbox Live Arcade, my reaction could have been accurately described as "charmed".

Same with Braid, save for the main developer apparently being the biggest jerk.

Well most recent one would have to be Little King's Story on Wii.The graphics,music,dialogue,everything just oozed charm

I really wish more people would give this game the credit it deserves. Not only is it fun and charming, but it offers something relatively unique compared to most recent games.

It is a shame this game didn't sell better.It's one of the best games on Wii and was among my favourite games released last year.Unfortunately it's another to add to the list of "critically praised but commercially ignored" games
