Also... welcome to the escapist. Someone has to be the one to give a warm welcome and I guess that's gotta be me. We all drew straws and I got the short one so yeah.... Welcome to the Escapist I hope you like it here.
Straws were drawn?! Why wasn't I involved in this process? I feel hurt and betrayed and lucky that I'm not contanimated by newb germs :p

Next time, let me welcome the new crop; I know how to handle new fish, thanks to having seen The Shawshank Redemption several times in a row :p

OT: Daikatana, or Warhammer: Mark of Chaos. The former is obvious, and the latter just dropped the ball so far after DoW.

That I bought?
Crysis.

I try not to get my hopes up for games, and I also research extensively after they come out.

Crysis was an impulse buy, and the worst game I've ever bought.
oh no he didn't just say that,
did he?

OT: Borderlands, worst ending in the history of gaming.

After looking at alot of the post maybe you guy expect to much from games hoping a new game will give the same feeling as first picking up a controller or fist time playing a mario game. But some of the games you guy put aren't that bad like I liked Killzone 2 but it was 2 eazy 4 me so I wouldnt call it the most dissapointing game neither GTA 4 although that damn cell phone drove me insane It was fun(not as much as GTA vice city)and IDK why Street Fighter 4 is on here altough there are major problems with it its not something I would call a dissapointment but what I will agree with you guys is Resistance 2 after playing the 1st one I thought the 2nd 1 was gunna be a legit co-op shooter but the story was not even co-op so I felt like shit convincing my cousin b4 he went to Iraq to buy this just to find out there was not any co-op story mode online was total crap and I beat it just to make it worthwhile and the camPain(meant to be spelled like that)was horrible BTW sorry I made this an essay about crappy games

Recently I decided to pick up a copy of Resistance 2. Huge mistake. I dropped $60 on one of the worst games I've played in my life. It has absolutely no redeeming qualities and I cant believe that anyone would play it for any reason.

A couple months later, I decided to buy Killzone 2. I dont know how the developers did it but they managed to make this game worse than Resistance 2. The two are pretty close in abysmal quality though. These are the two most disappointing games that come to mind, but they were very recent and I'm sure there are plenty of worse games before them so lets hear them.
Most disappointing game is a game featuring you, Res. 2 and Killz. 2 were good

True Crime: Streets of LA was pretty disappointing. I mean, I got the impression that it would be like Grand Theft Auto but where you were the cop and you could dick around as much as you liked. And, for about two chapters, that's basically what it was. Then, suddenly, you end up in an underground sewer fighting an ancient Chinese dragon made out of smoke. oO It was just nowhere as good as advertised. Soundtrack was great, though.
Fighting an ancient chinese dragon and zombies made it completely awesome for me actually :D

However... the sequel sucked big time. True Crime New York is really awful. Awful and cliché story, blatant GTA-clone (even more obvious in this one than in True Crime: Streets of L.A. IMO) and no zombies ;__; also, a black ninja getting his ass kicked by a cop in sword-fighting? Are there no good black ninjas in the world?
I don't know about black ninjas, but there seem to be plenty of Afro Samurai making a living. ^ ^

I suppose, in theory, the mysticism should have made it cool, but, I don't know, I'm sceptical that there were any 'true crimes' that involved ancient mystical cults summoning ninja steam zombies. Then again, maybe I'm just watching the wrong forensics shows. XD
Yeah, either True Crime is a misleading title or the world is scarier than I thought xD Still, Zombies and dragons are awesome :D Too bad they had to put so much boring stuff in between ;__; But at least in Streets of L.A. you could dual-wield shotguns xD

One game that did however... Half Life 2
That's your opionion...
Yeah I can admit that, I cannot prove that Half Life 2 is bad as such a thing cannot be proven as it is merely subjectual opinion and I can respect that, it just didn't really enthrall me is all.

Ok, this is going to sound babyish.
My mum bought me My horse and me as a xmas presant since i like horse games. She paid £20 for it and I hated it. It was meant to be the new and improved in realistic terms but to be honest I found nothing in it helpful or in any way fun.

Believe it or not, but Portal. The puzzles were easy, the game was 1 hour long, i did not get those ''black humor jokes, that god made himself'' and the ''Cake is a lie'' didn't make any sense to me either.

Prince of Persia 2008.

It was like seeing your favorite metalband release an album of Westlife covers.

Bioshock. Reviewers gave it 10/10, so i bought it and found it really boring. I didn't even find it scary at 12 at night with the lights off.
*EDIT* so somedude98 doesn't get annoyed, it was a b'day present from him so I didn't actually buy it.

Fable 2 had a bad ending but enjoyed it, liked the gameplay and structure. Brutal legend was a tad dissapointing but the rockin car-drives to find collectibles was fun. The biggest is Unreal tournament 3, i wantedc to like it when i rented it, but it felt way to generic to like. Im getting sick thinking of it.

You probably aren't a fan of FPS games then. The most disappointing game I've ever played was Haze. It was supposed to be a match for Halo. It was supposed to be a killer app with amazing gameplay, graphics and a cool story. Did it turn out that way? No even close. The gameplay sucked, the graphics were shit, the story was pointless at best, and the soldiers you encountered on both sides said enough stupid and repetitive things to make me want to kill them. Turning Point: Fall of Liberty was bad too, but at least people knew it was bad well before it launched and gave Codemasters enough time to fix it (which they didn't). Everyone thought Haze was gonna be big. Instead, I lost $60 and wasted 10 hours of my life.

FFXII and Fable II are also up there on my list. I don't think I've ever been more excited for games than for those two, only to find that they were, well...bad, and bloody insubstantial.

No, I like FPS's fine. I really like all genres of games except sports. But thats kind of a given. I didnt have any expectations for Haze or Turning Point though, I could see that coming from ages away so I didnt buy into it.

Also I would like to add to the dissapointing games list all of the Spyro and Crash Bandicoot games that werent on the PS1.
