I've heard quite a few people incorrectly associate a game with a developer. Notably people have repeatedly told me that Call of Duty 3 and 5 were made by the same company that made 1, 2 and 4.

"Fallout 3 is a shooter"

I've heard something similar. A friend who thinks that Oblivion is superior to fallout 3, because Fallout 3 is 'just like any other shooter'

It aint a shooter, but he does have a point, Oblivion is superior to Fallout 3, that and its alot more original, when i played Fallout 3 i just kept laughing at everything they just copy-pasted from The Elder Scrolls series, only thing i saw that i thought was imaginative was the VATS system, which was sorta imaginative, though it did take the difficulty out of the game by allowing you to pretty much always slow down time and shoot the baddies, and once you ran out, you just spammed a couple of shots and you had full RAD again, easy as hell.

What exactly did they copy paste from Oblivion into Fallout 3 other than the game engine which they updated anyway?

just about everything i saw during the hour i played it was pretty much Oblivion but Steampunk instead of fantasy, ranging from character animations (jumping, talking, running), to subtle things like how the conversations work and how you can improve your skills in bartering by trying a line over and over again until it works, that mechanic i saw back when Morrowind was new, also it seems to have the same glitches as the earlier ones, which isnt a big suprise seeing as its pretty much just an updated version with Steampunk as theme and not Fantasy, for example, the ability to gain unlimited currency through a npc glitching out.

But all in all, its a copy-pasted game, its VERY obvious its the same creators who did the Elder Scrolls series, which is a bad thing in this case seeing as they arent even close to each other in neither story nor theme.

Ok sorry I know this argument has nothing to do with me but I just feel I must throw myself in.
First off all, yes the animations are the same, as hypothetical fact said before, its the same engine.
Second, I feel they changed the the conversations engine enough. Instead of just saying a word or two, you now say full sentences. Yes they still zoom in on the person your talking and I'll give you that but that did not bother me nor my friends and we played oblivion allot.
Third, what are you talking about bartering, that dose not work like that, the only way to increase your bartering skill is to level up which you do by getting xp. Also when you get an option to say something to a person which requires social skill you only get one chance, so no you cannot just try saying the same thing over and over again.
Forth, well I cant really argue with a glitch you had happen to you but in my game, while playing on hard, I was picking up EVERYTHING just so I could afford some bullets and health packs for my next main mission.

Also just to throw this in here, off course you feel that the game is made by the same developer. Bethesda is the only developer (ok maybe not the only one but the only only one I know) out there that dose open world games right (I'm looking at you Fable 2, you liar) I've tried many games that claim to be open world but they always have some linear elements to them.

If I had a penny for every time I was in primary school and someone claimed to know how to get a Mew in pokemon...

You can catch the mew in pokemon. Theres some thing, I can't remember exactly how to do it but there was some specific trainer you had to talk too, then walk a certain way and it would appear.

Only it would look garbled, broken, have none of the moves that a normal mew would have, and break your game.

It looked fine. Same model of the mew they gave away at the pokemon movies (you take your gameboy in and they give it too you). And I have no knowledge of it breaking the game, although there was a misingno. thing that broke the game if you tried to catch it, and that looked garbled. That was a bug, the mew was an easter egg put in by one of the devs.

you have no idea how many times i have heard this argument, usually these people can't even tell the difference from a bass and an acoustic guitar, seriously I would be well within my right to smash them with all of them and lay down some education.



also back when tekken 3 was still fresh, one of my friends sincerely believed, and convinced everyone that Lei could shoot with his gun, that gunjack could shoot with cannons, and that Heihachi could send lightning between the ears of an opponent, and when near KO their heads would explode. oh yeah and that Gon could piss and vomit on opponents. In retrospect i think he mixed up MK with tekken.

another thing, which is more of a misconception; that the xbox 360 allows you to store music...lies, filthy bloody lies, just a little bitter

most recently alot of people have been claiming that GTA 4 had a good story, i disagree but anyway a mate of mine stated that the reason he thought the story was good, was because he thought it was based on actual events, and that Niko was an actual person ...naturally i laughed at his face for several minutes, and stated that he was a complete idiot

Okay i admit its blinkin annoying to put music on the 360, but if you use the cd you blinkin well can store music on the xbox, please don't argue with me over this seeing as i have several CD's stored on my 360 and am, in fact, listening to one right now!

On that note, i have heard this many times before and it always gets on my nerves, specifically when people are saying it doesn't and that they have tried it with their ipod or an ordinary memory stick.

I do remember it. And I didn't like the actor playing Link, something just wierded me out about him.
