One of my friends who is a supposed "Massive Call of Duty Fan" didn't know what Treyarch or Infinity Ward was.

and for me the most ridiculous thing some one has said about a game goes like this
me and my friend are talking about RSV2 then some idioit ditsy girl who loves to butt into other people conversation's
starts talking asthough she knows everything about the game
she goes : oh i know that game its wicked isn't it
it's a driving game right i bet you i could beat you at it hahaha
then me and my friend just stare at the dits angrily
it ended up getting really tense but my freind broke the tension by saying
"SHUT THE F^&K UP YOU DUMB BI$%H!!!"
Back when Dragon Ball Z was the big thing of the time, something like 2000:
"I have DBGT: Final Bout on PS1. It has Buu, and Super Saiyan level 4, and fusion and everything"
Other dandies:
"I beat Motaro with Sub-Zero by just freezing him and uppercutting him."
"I have GTA3 on my PS1/Xbox." (when it was first released)

Needless to say, that resulted in "syntax error". The sad part was that he truly believed it could work and spent more than ten minutes just hitting numbers and commas...
My personal favorite has got to be this one though, from a kid who really liked to make things up. I kid you not, he really said this:
"The Guardian Legend is the world's newest [as in "least ancient"] legend. It was written in 1957."
It would have been plain mean to laugh...OR to tell him legends are not "written" in a single year, usually don't involve transforming android women and are seldom the basis for video games if the box does not say so.
