What do you think we will look like a million years from now? (assuming we are still around)Will we gain psychic powers? turn into gelatinous blobs that can only communicate through texting? or perhaps we will become beings of pure energy?

Give me your thoughts.
Not very likely, since the few potential evolutionary steps tend to be considered as "freaks" by the rest of humanity, and these mutants rarely get the chance to procreate.

I see to potential ways of evolution for man. Death or technologically induced transhumanism. It's either one or the other...

Impossible to decide. Human beings themselves have been around for a very short amount of time, in the long run. In a million years, anything could happen. Extinction, unfortunately, has the greatest chance.

I think it will be boring stuff. Like getting rid of things we no longer use (Nails, etc.) I doubt we will gain anything, we may have developed fingers that are perfect for tapping away at keyboards though.

I don't think keyboards will be needed for much longer. You'll be able to control a computer just by thinking the commands pretty soon.

Whatever the hell happens next. No way for us to know which way the genes will go.

Yup. I mean we're playing russian roulette with disease as it is. New strands of lethal viruses mutate all the time. It just takes one with high enough infection rate and lethality to wipe out mankind forever.

Disease control works for the moment, but the standard procedures are only meant to handle a certain infection rate. If a virus where to evolve into something with just a few decimals higher in infection rate, we'd be fucked.

Well if you want to be realistic we will be more efficant and cooler on the inside meaning our muscles and organs would just do there job alot better and we would have more power of the brain but on the outside we'll remain pretty same.

Humans devolve.
At least physically, since we are comfortable and usually don't do anything.
And those who struggle to make a living, well... they'll die out.

What? You can't devolve, just evolve in a way that has negative results.

Well, yeah. That's what I meant obviously.

Based on the principles laid out by Darwin, and nearly perfected in subsequent years, we will seperate into two species. One of tall slender beautiful build. The other a lest wholesome looking troll like thing. It will never grow into a cast system due, in large part, to the rise of liberalism, however it will become a more distinct genetic chasm. One day the will trolls find themselves holding the majority of menial labor globally, and will rise up and start a species war. Eradicating the slender species by virtue of a more neanderthalic muscular build. The war will be horrific. The war will also set humanity back several thousand years, both technologically, genetically, intellectually and societally.

Or we could just figure out how to genetically manipulate our sperm and create the perfect human, both physically and mentally. We would then overpopulate the world until there is a major climate collapse and we all die. Which is more likely. Better go snorkeling off the great barrier reef while you can!
Just out of curiosity what is your perfect human?

In all seriousness, my human evolution lecturer was on a research project that found out that the number of people who grow wisdom teeth is decreasing.

This was illustrated by the fact that only 7 people in my class of 43, aged between 19 and 50 odd, had grown them. Including me! Woo I'm a minority!

Well, there are no actual "steps" in evolution, but I'd say the development will go towards people larger in height with bigger and bigger heads (making natural birth impossible at one point) with the rest of the body becoming thinner and thinner. Basically, similar to the typical Roswell Alien body proportions but much larger.
