Pan's Labyrinth is one of the saddest, most depressing movies I've ever seen, yet its one of my favorites.

Grave of the Fireflies was the saddest movie I have ever seen, I did cry. A close second has to be the part of Shawshank Redemption about getting cycled back out into the public after decades of prison (I am being vague not to spoil it).

*GASP* It's all about the sacrafice, man. Several people die just to get one man sent back home. Then old Tom Hanks goes out fighting. Followed by the transition into the future and what Ryan asks his wife at the end. Freakin' sad man. The music doesn't help the mood either.

The Green Mile is the closest movie (or book) that has ever almost made me cry. Almost.

The ending of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button made me cry.
Me too. I think that was one of the few movies that I can remember that made me cry. Poor guy. :'(

Also, even though it didn't make me cry and I reference it so many times people might puke, In Bruges was very sad. Part of me thinks sadness make the movie better. Probably because it adds to the drama.

Ok, it's not really a movie, but the episode of Futurama with Fry's dog is undoubtedly the SADDEST moment in television history. I mean, most sad movies, I can actually bring myself to go back and watch a second time, because they're usually very emotionally impacting, well done movies. Whenever I see that episode on TV, I turn it off. I simply can't bring myself to experience that ending a second time.

Anne Frank: The Whole Story.
I got really upset when they moved to the concentration camp even though I knew it was going to happen. :-(
