Sorry if anyone's offended by the subject matter. But hey, hate the game, don't hate the player.
While she's no big deal once you have some experience and know how to kill her quick, the Witch in Left 4 Dead is terrifying when you start playing. The scariest one for me though is Dr Salvador in Resident Evil 4. Hearing the distant sound of a chainsaw....damn.

This is something i can agree with, along with Ashley from RE4, but the scariest monster in a game is probably Regenerators from RE4Herb sewell said:

Oh god I completely agree. I think I had OOT for at least a year before I would play it as an adult because I was so scared of the redeads outside the Temple of Time. And I remember when I found out you could kill the dead hand, and when I did, it was a victory like NO OTHERLordGarbageMan said:

For me I think the victim ghosts from SH4 are the scariest. Once they start hunting you down it's so terrifying.... also in the same game the monster at the end of SH4 in that you stab while you're fighting Walter Sullivan still leaves me chills.
Also Pyramid Head from SH2 definitely comes as a runner-up, but he seems more fierce to me than scary.
For me I think the victim ghosts from SH4 are the scariest. Once they start hunting you down it's so terrifying.... also in the same game the monster at the end of SH4 in that you stab while you're fighting Walter Sullivan still leaves me chills.
