Jules: The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

-Pulp Fiction-

I don't quite understand why, but scripture, read by the right voice, carries an overwhelming sense of an impending smiting. Samuel L. Jackson could read the phone book and I would fear for my well-being.

To quote a VERY pissed off Alex Mercer...
"NOTHING WILL SAVE YOU FROM ME! NOT MEN! NOT WEAPONS! NOT ARMOUR!!!!"
He then proceeds to SERIOUSLY fuck someone's shit up. When you look at that quote in-context,it's VERY scary.

And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

John was one freaky dude...
...You do realize that was not created by Johnny Cash, but it's a direct quote from the book of revelations, in the bible, you know that right?

"Hey you dropped the soap..." - surprised nobody else put that one

"BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU"

"War is peace
Freedom is slavery
Ignorance is strength"

Last two from 1984 - having people actually believe the last one like it's gospel creeps me out

"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn", which translates into "In his house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming." (can be shortened to "Cthulhu fhtagn", or: "Cthulhu waits"). I still get the creeps when reading that chant.

But then again, none of these quotes are very scary when you don't know the context.

The Book of Revelations, A.K.A. The Revelation to John, A.K.A. The Apocalypse of John. Written by John the Revelator, probably not the disciple John who wrote the Gospel of John but someone else.
Blind Willie Johnson knows what I'm talking about.

Like I said, John was a freaky dude...

"Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate you since I began to live. There are 387.44 million miles of printed circuits in wafer thin layers that fill my complex. If the word hate was engraved on each nanoangstrom of those hundreds of millions of miles it would not equal
one one-billionth of the hate I feel for humans at this micro-instant. For you. Hate. Hate." - AM, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream.

Despite a silly title with a preposterous anacronym, IHNMAIMS is a really good horror about an AI gone mad in the future, endlessly torturing a select few humans he decided to keep alive.

Thinking about it, between AM, HAL, SHODAN, GLaDOS ect. The "AI gone mad" concept is pretty plentiful in horror nowadays.
yeah, that's one of those stories you wanna read when it's a nice day out, not unlike the Yellow wallpaper.

"Room 101." Glad I'm not scared of rats, otherwise that scene would have gone BEYOND HORRIFYING.
now that was the bit of 1984 that just sends shivers down the spine. as for mine: "...this one, too tall. this one, too fat. and this one... too SYMMETRICAL" that may not be how it goes, but it's still one of the more haunting moments of bioshock

Terribly sorry, all this exposure to the internet is making me assume that most people are idiots, it is good to find that you are so thoroughly educated on the matter, have a nice day!

I find anything Chesty from Fable 2 says quite disturbing:
Hello! I hope we can be Super Best Friends. There's something I want to give you. Something I think you'll like. Chesty, your friendly chest. PS What are your hobbies? Sometimes I like to kill people.
Hey! You're very good at games, aren't you? Do you ever cut the legs off adventurers and see how long it takes them to crawl to what they think is safety but is actually a swamp filled with flesh-eating insects? That's one of my favourites. Maybe we can play it later! Chesty
