What is the worst game you have played this year?

Doesn't have to be released this year but just one you have played an HATED with a passion or one that just annoyed you.

For me its either Prototype or the new Medal of Honor both were terrible storylines and you are just dragging your heels whilst playing it because you don't feel engaged by them.

What is yours?

The worst game I'm played this year was Homefront.

Average graphics, DREADFUL storyline, biased physics engive (such as when someone shot me from the other side of a solid steel wall), arse-backwards AI, barely-visible HUD. Just bad. Absolutely rotten to the core.

It's currently the only game I've ever traded in (I'm something of a collector).

This. It's like the perfect example of how not to make people care about your game or anything in it.

I bought a THQ pack when it was on offer on steam, and Frontlines: Fuel of War was included.

Could actually be a contender for worst game I've ever played period, never mind the year.

I suppose it was Brink.

The different classes are unbalanced as hell, the maps aren't varied enough, the SMART system is pretty much none existent because of those map designs and all the weapons feel the same.

The online is laggy as hell, most of the time you end up with bots and not real players and the customisation is very much lacking.

There were some great ideas there, but it's definately the worst game I've bought this year.

*Duke Nukem Forever landslide incoming*. For me, it has to be Brink. It looked SO promising back in 2010, but when i finally played it, twas a fucking atrocity.

Force Unleashed 2.

I finished it in three hours. The environments are uninspired. The boss fights are easy, but take forever. The game does not become increasingly difficult. The game just spawns more of the same unit each time you progress.

It is fucking awful. Not as fun as the first, next-to-no replay value, less expansive force powers.

Shit game. This is coming from someone who had a barrel of laughs with the original.

Freecell. The graphics are crap, the story's non-existent, and there's no soundtrack whatsoever. None! It's shameful, frankly.

F.E.A.R. 3. Such a mediocre game. Wish they'd stayed truer to the first game's atmosphere and perfect blend of "horror" and combat. Now it's just Call of Duty with a tad-bit of mind-fuckery and some demons/zombies/whatever for good measure.

I'm preparing for the flamethrowers to be unleashed unto me, but...

BioShock. Yes, BioShock 1, not 2.

The symbolism that I was told would be all over the place... isn't, or at least not any good. The gameplay is mediocre at best, and the feeling that they made it stupidly difficult and then added the Vita-Chambers for 'balance' is inescapable. It's not scary, and the plasmids, while being the best part of the game, become useless against any foe that possesses more of a challenge than basic splicer.

...glad I got that off my chest :p
You're going to get my sympathy, rather than my flames.

I understand where you're coming from. I like Bioshock 1 (Bioshock 2 was completely unnecessary, here's hoping Bioshock: infinite is better), but I've got to admit the game bores me after a little while playing it. I find this exceedingly strange because: I like steampunk, I like Art Deco, and I REALLY like horror. I also like the setting, and the water physics in the game are beautiful, but after not-too long playing, I begin to feel like it's a chore.

Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow, haven't completed it but I still have it. It's just to boring I'm up to the second titan. For those of you that have played it this quote pisses me of a lot " Over Here!...You *****!" I mean like get your protector to help.

Force Unleashed 2 is a good one! I hated it sooooo much when my friend brought it over happily. I tried to lie to him, but I was so bored after playing it for like an hour and a half.
AND THE JEDI CLONE THING? WHAT THE HELL IS THAT DAMMIT. ARRRRG.

Hmmm. Other than that though?
I can't really think of one. I'll just have to mention last years hated game: FF 13. OH MY GOD. SOOOOOO MUCH RAGE.
Also Heavy Rain, the controls were so unwieldy and it was... just boring!

The thing that pissed me off the most wasn't even a game this year, and I played DNF. I finally got around to watching Battlestar Galactica, and it was the worst sci-fi show I've ever seen. Please folks, if you are going to say BSG was better than Star Trek and all those other comments that I've heard thrown at me over the years, please do yourself a favor and go watch some Stargate SG-1 and Farscape before you open your mouth. Hell, go watch some Babylon 5 because that was leagues better than BSG, even if I didn't find it enthralling.

Call of Juarez the Cartel. Makes every other average game look like a triple A title.

Mass effect , and i feel bad for not liking it , i really do . But it was just unapealing to me , and i love rpgs . Ironically im currently playing mass effect 2 and im loving it , and i usually hate 3rd person cover base shooters . Either im doing something wrong or i got cursed by a witch and got turned into a casual .

And i played DA2 , and alpha protocol and other mediocre games but i liked them more than ME . I feel bad.

Meh, I thought Prototype was awesome.

Worst game I've played this year? Bioshock. I got it the other day and I don't really like it.
