Rise from the Grave. Cost me 90 MS points.
I literally cried afterwards.

Second one is I Wanna Be The Guy.

Two Worlds. I was jonesing for some Elder-Scrolls-style epic roaming. I can't remember now what cheesed me off so bad about it. I just remember feeling very embarrassed for the game.

Also, Fester's Quest. Of all the Nintendo Hard drivelware of that era, I single out FQ as the worst. NES Ghostbusters is a very close second.

I don't think there's anything bad about it from a design standpoint. It does what it set out to do extremely well. It's just that what it wants to do is hand out aneurysms like candy.

I'm rarely in the habit of playing bad games. If I have the slightest suspicion something sucks, I stay away from it. I don't own hundreds of contemporary titles for that reason alone. With that said, there's the dreaded bargain bin. Dun dun duuuun.

From that bin, I've picked out some really awful titles. Some of the objectively worst games I've played recently are probably Blood Ties and Chronicles of Mystery: The Scorpio Ritual. Both from City Interactive, a company apparently specializing in producing really god awful mystery games. However, I expected those to blow. A game that was objectively awful, while I still had some hopes for it, was Gangland. The controls and User Interface made that game completely unplayable for me, and I gave up after fifteen minutes of atrocious gameplay.

I'm not too sure to be honest, probably an internet flash game that people bang on about, but in terms of actual physical disc game then its probably Ass of Ass Creed 2, it should be called "Run to a marker on your map to see a new cutscene creed"

Edit, also Ubisoft in there infinite wisdom took out the Language options from the UK version because its cheaper than the Euro version, hence French people had a habit of buying Ubi games from the UK to save on money, taking out the languages stopped that.

Hi Lt.Surge, can I point you in this direction;
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.116827-These-forums-and-you-Forum-Posting-Guidelines

Its the forum rules since your new it be good to have a read with regards to etiquette here, there is a search bar at the top right hand corner to see if threads have been done before, and try to bulk up your threads for discussion value. Simple posts are frowned upon but your new and Kuliani is a merciful Mod, NilCypher and Alex_P however do not understand the concept of mercy.

I bought and played Daikatana. Do I win the thread?
Wow, Daikatana is the "The Divine Comedy" of the gaming world, everybody claims to have played it but they haven't. I didn't think I'd meet someone who actually did in my lifetime.

Soul Calibur Legends was just terrible, but it was actually so bad that it was kind of funny to play with friends, so I suppose I derived some enjoyment out of that one (plus, it was a gift, so no monetary loss on my part).

I'd have to say Herdy Gerdy. To me, that game had nothing redeemable about it: boring design, boring gameplay, boring concept.

Sacred 2 & Spore I consider two of the worst games because the game play was just horrible.

... Spore ...
Really? I get that Spore is a huge disappointment. It certainly was, to me. But is it among the worst games you've -ever- played? If that's true, you've been blessed. I can think of hundreds of games more atrocious than Spore; it was just a mediocre snore-fest that couldn't really decide what it wanted to do, and did it all in a very mediocre way. Is it the most disappointing game I've played, based on my expectations? Quite possibly. Is it the worst game I've ever played? Not by a long shot.

I rarely make the habit of playing games that I don't think I'll like. Typically I plan for a very long time before I make a video game purchase.

But of course I have to again give mention to virtually every movie based game (except for King Kong and Star Wars Battlefront 2) because not only were they typically poor quality but they ruined my memories of the movies they were based on.

that game was so bad it was almost good :p
have to agree there. the game was so bad in so many ways that you cant help but enjoy the expereince, such as reversing faster than the speed of light and breaking the map :D

I played a movie-based game once (can't remember what it was) at a friend's, it was shit, i decided never to buy one ever after that. Star Wars was a bit different though since half the games aren't really correlated to the films and are more towards the stories between them. Battlefront (2) was pretty good :). I have to say, though, that the same problem happens the other way (games to films) with the exception (so far) of Max Payne.

Alexander, the RTS from the movie. Don't look at me like that, it was a gift from a non-gamer! He meant well, that's what counts. Also Heritage of Kings. The gameplay in and of itself wasn't bad as such, just cookie-cutter and lame, but most of the rest was crap, and for a game claiming to be a Settlers game, the whole package was just unforgivable.

Blazing Angel's. Came with my PS3, made me temporarily despair in next-gen consoles.
