What is the worst thing thats happened to your game while playing it?

30 hours into persona 3 and I go to save and it gives an error saving which is nothing new but this time it just completly refuses to save so I reset and try and load my old save data but its gone, all my persona 3 date is corrupted, fanfreakintastic

my brother broke my DBZ: Infinite World after 1 week. he still owes me the 40$ it costs, but he wont pay, saying "it wasnt me". little bugger. wish i could stick a nail through his forehead and hammer him into the wall.

Morrowind corrupted my save files occasionally and I lost 3 or 4 pretty advanced characters. Never finished because of that.

Much less severe thing here, my damage record in TF2 didn't record itself. It should be 122 points higher than it is.

You're not alone, although I only played after I got the First Decade pack to say that I finished it.

The worst thing that I've ever had happen was back in the late 90's I was playing Syndicate when my computer made a nasty squealing\grinding noise, an bunch of error codes and memory addresses scrolled up the screen in large brown text and the computer locked up. I shut it off, turned it back on and nothing, turns out the hard drive had ground itself into a fine powder.

Playing Mass Effect PC when the screen suddenly turns into something a 5.y.o would do in MS paint and the game crashes. Had no recent saves. I just quit.

Final Fantasy 10, my PS2 is on a shelf about 7 feet up from the ground, on top of the TV, so instead of walking around the dangling controller cord, my dog decides "oh i can jump that" and he jumps over and catches his hind leg on the cord yanking the PS2 to the ground and shattering the memory card and breaking the PS2.
Sure its mostly me to blame for putting there, but dammit i was like halfway through game. :/

Well I moved my PS3 to the 53' screen for tonight and during Online Co-op for Resistance 2 up pops the message "Lost connection to controller port 1" and no USB cable for two floors.. and I'm staring down a Titan Primarch, not cool.

i bought endwar like a week after it came out, a day after i download the patch 1.52 for the ps3 and fucking things dies it just freezes i turn it off then on again refuses to read the disk that was months ago have'nt gotten it checked out so anyone know if computer places check that crap out and if they fix it?

Playing Super Mario Bros 3 when I was 15, got to Bowser's Castle (final level) for the first ime, my little brother picked up the controller on the map screen and used a warp whistle.
