We even invented a new BS "disease" called depression to make pathetic kids feel better and sell placebos. Depression never occurred when I was a lad because our "depression" was beaten out of us and we became fine young men.
Depression isn't a disease. It's a mental disorder that anyone and everyone can get.

Guys, guys...to ANYONE taking the OP seriously.

OP is clearly not serious. He CAN'T be serious.

...And if he is, I feel very sorry for him and anyone he knows.
Yeah, I hope so too. especially the

Now more often than ever, I see kids still living with their parents even after they turn 16. Which is a sign that kids are getting dumber, lazier and thinner skinned.
Because you know, so many 16 year olds can afford a house of their own.
OP sounds a bit like my elderly relatives to be honest.
"You kids don't know you're born! I had to walk uphill both ways to school and I was working in the mines at 12! You need a good thrashing if you dare make a mistake like flawed humans sometimes do! Bring back the cane!!!"

Decent people do not control their children through fear. I was never beaten and I turned out just fine.
I'm gonna assume OP is trollin'. But people who seriously think like that should not be allowed to breed and should keep their noses out of other people's lives.

I was with you until that paragraph.

Oh no, nobody committed suicide back in the day. They weren't depressed, they just felt soooooo happy with their lives that they felt they were done and said it was time to move on to heaven.

Depression and anxiety are real things, and have been medically proven.

I was diagnosed with social anxiety disorder, and I have had a good bit of depression. I was not mollycoddled as a kid. When I did something wrong, I was beat on the ass, sometimes by hand and and sometimes with a belt.

It is a real. Just because you don't know anything about it, doesn't mean it isn't real.

Emil Kraepelin (1856-1926), a German psychiatrist considered by many (includingHagop Akiskal M.D.) to be the father of the modern conceptualization of bipolar disorder, categorized and studied the natural course of untreated bipolar patients long before mood stabilizers were discovered. Describing these patients in 1902, he coined the term "manic depressive psychosis." He noted in his patient observations that intervals of acute illness, manic or depressive, were generally punctuated by relatively symptom-free intervals in which the patient was able to function normally.

from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_bipolar_disorder

So depression was diagnosed around the beginning of the 1900, which was eventually diagnosed as Bipolar disorder, so unless you are over 100 years old, depression was a thing in your day too.
