Mostly American, though that by itself means my great-great-etc. grandparents were probably English at some point.

I do have an Indian middle name, though.

I'm a blend of pretty much every European ethnicity ever. Czechoslovakian, Polish, German, and Irish are the main ethnicities, but at best that's like 1/16th each.

I'd say I'm jealous, but I find associating oneself with an ethnicity (assuming you're a white American) is a little pretentious. Sure, your grandparents/parents may have been some ethnicity, but unless your family actually celebrates and maintains the culture, claiming you are that ethinicity seems like it would just come off as offensive to those that actually are.

Not quite sure about the percentages, but:
part Irish, Italian, Scottish, English, and Dutch.
All European. I'm sure I've fought several wars against myself and I have a lot to be guilty for.

Half Russian and Half Bulgarian, me myself I pointed out to my mom it could go beyond because Varna, my birth place, was originally a Greek settlement, plus Turkish immigrants on top of that the fact that Bulgarians are the Bulgar Turks and Slavic people. But I generally think races are stupid things that separate us, so I sometimes mess with people saying I'm from like China or Tajikistan.

Both my parents come from Scotland and I was born in Scotland - as far as I'm aware, my grandparents and great grandparents came from Scotland too.

So, I'm Scottish, but I'm told if you go back a bit further both sides of my family eventually come from Ireland.

I've never understood the obsession with 'backgrounds' are people supposed to give you more or less respect depending on where a certain member of your family lived at one time? Do people expect to be treated differently because theeir parent came from a different country? Do people actually believe that because someone down their family line was for example Irish, they have natural charm and get drunk more?

I just don't get the obsession, it's patronising at best and ignorant at worst.

We're all mongrels and the ONLY traits that have been passed down to us from our reletives are genetic ones.
