It pits me against a cheap boss (1 hit I die 1000 hits and I barely hurt it)

Stupid mission (escort with brainless AI, protect the building and other trial and error)

Too much effort for little reward. If I gotta spend 10 hours grinding to beat a boss for a story I don't care about it is over

Poor checkpoints. I hate replaying the same hour over and over because they couldn't be bothered to put a checkpoint in the middle

Simple frustration. Dying or killing or just beating the same dead horse will do it for me

I finished all my games. BUT I almost quit on Wanted:WOF. The last blind boss was dumb

Plus, I'm an achievement whore. I'm sorry.

Because of a block between the player and a game character is a massive block for me.

i suppose one of the reasons i dont finish the games i have is for the very fact the the adventure will be over.

some of the games i have, i got to a point where i couldent pass, and havent tried again.

I've never not finished a game. Even if I hated it, I make myself finish it to justify having spent money on it.

1 the game scratches or I can't play it on my computer

2 too much false difficulty. I stopped and the San Andreas flying missions for instance or even worse, Shenmue II.

50% boredom with the game, 50% ADD.
To elaborate on this, I when some part of the gameplay makes picking it up a chore, that's the loosening up I need to swap over when a new game comes out that I absolutely must play after buying it. If the game in question is unlucky, I'll move on to a different game after that because I am NEVER without games I haven't played yet.

If something is horribly frustrating, sometimes I'll put it down and forget to come back to it. Also, if a game has really bad gameplay, and I just can't bare the thought of slogging through it, then I won't play it. When gaming feels like work, it's not worth it anymore.
I don't think I could have stated it better myself. In Halo Wars, I've yet to beat the flood recovery mission (The one Yahtzee talks about in his review), because its just annoying.

Usually when i die and have to go ages back into the level and after a few of those i give up
Although i have had my save file go corrupt right before an end boss.

For Dark Sector, which I would like to beat soon, because the goddamn last boss won't die. I hate him.

For the other three games I'm half-way through, I got distracted.

Mostly if it's WAY TOO FUCKIN' LONG, as was the case in FF12.

I hope to finish that someday.

Either I get bored with it after a while or something happens to my computer and I lose all my progress. I eventually get back to them, it's not a matter of not finishing in most cases as much as how long it takes to finish.

Frustrating (Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts)
Long (Oblivion)
Cant Figure out where to go (Some of the vents in Riddick DA)
Bad Controls (Saints Row is the first that comes to mind)
Interest in the story (MGS4, still finished the game but I did put it down a few times.. I had played all the previous titles and didnt get half of the story references.. lucky it was still fun to play in between the cutscenes)
Getting the things you want out of the game too early (Forza2, got my RL car (Evo IX) within the first 30 mins of the game)
