I didn't know Smashing Pumpkins were considered a guilty pleasure. Some of their more recent stuff maybe. Gish, Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie, on the other hand, are stone cold classics.overpuce said:Guilty pleasure of mine. Hate me all you want.
First band I ever saw in concert. It's just pure nostalgia for me.
That's what I believe everybody should be doing. Music is different to the other arts in that you need to make sure your following it right so you can enjoy it to it's full potential. We all get used to commercial music or something because of TV/radio and people tend not to give many other genres a chance at all.Shuguard said:Funny thing is i didn't like tool at first till i listened over and over and finally started loving them. So Tool is my absolute favorite.
Have you heard of "Cute Is What We Aim For"? it has a similar mesh for quite a bit of their songs.Regnes said:Death Cab for Cutie has some pretty unique music, I think they're amazing. They're still sort of indy, but they're mainstream enough that they're not exactly a hipster's choice.
I was starting worry. No mention of Tool, I would have been disappoint.JCBFGD said:Tool. Tool? Yes, Tool. I just like to say Tool. Tool Tool Tool Tool Tool!
Hey, I'm just saying that I don't think that kind of music requires much talent. I personally think everyone can just download some sort of synthesizer off of the internet and put some random tones together. That said, it's just my opinion. I can understand why some people would like it, and I have no problem with other people liking it either. I just don't like it myself.Scrumpmonkey said:snippy
No, I don't think it's real music. I have respect for the people who make it, but I still don't count it as music. I have no problem with the people who make it, nor with the people who listen to it, but I don't like it myself. And yes, Coldplay. I like them.Vault101 said:shame....SHAME!!!!! (I prefer actual music, not things like dubstep and the likes. It has to be with actual instruments, not someone who holds their microphone next to his/her washing machine and calls it "dubstep")
So, let's get this party started!![]()
