Max Brook's Zombie Survival Guide. It is now the holy book to my Zombie Religion.
I found Max Brooks' heavy reliance on the military and paramilitary to be a little disappointing, though I liked his work. Ditto for World War Z. The fun of zombies is, ANYONE can take them on and win.

I've got a Ray Bradbury anthology with about a hundred of his stories. It's a book...and it's my favorite

I guess that fills the criteria

The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. I love long, complex, ridiculously involved epics, and this is just about the best one I've ever read. I'm still depressed he died before he finished it.

My favorite book series of all time is The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya by Tanigawa Nagaru.

The character development in those books is truly remarkable and it's interesting how the stories don't really stick to any particular genre.

The Hyperion series was also pretty good.(Interestingly, I found out about that series through The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)
I've been wanting to read that for a long time. Is it really that good?

OT, Favorite series: Death Note
Favorite single book: Clover.

Ether... Lolita, or the first The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya book...

Both are equally awesome.
