Nothing wrong with a good White Russian.Mannayz said:Man, some of you guys have some really delicious-sounding recipes I may want to try sometime in the future. It's making my love for White Russians seemingly inferior....
Lagers are really pale beers, they look (and taste IMHO) like urine and usually have a hoppy, bitter flavor.brandon237 said:Considering I can count the number of times I have tried an alcoholic beverage on my fingers, I wouldn't know![]()
Hit the nail on the head. It took about three days for that 'nasty aftertaste' to hit me again. Luckily I'm older and wiser and very partial to Leffe Blonde and some other ale that's 8% with an unpronounceable name. It's belgian too though and one hell of a nice drink.Look-a-Hill said:You were right the first time mate, Fosters IS rancid. It's the most offensive thing I've ever put in my mouth (apart from Cod Liver Oil perhaps). Some twat tried to drink it [Fosters] through my vuvuzela too, so now that stinks
.
As for cocktails, I honestly don't know. Not a big drinker of them. I've had a couple in my time but the most recent one was a couple of years ago and I can't remember the name. Though a mini-ambition of mine is to try a White Russian, purely because of The Dude. And the fact it's got milk in it.
Personally (call me a freak) I never want to get drunk, so I will keep that in mindElamdri said:Lagers are really pale beers, they look (and taste IMHO) like urine and usually have a hoppy, bitter flavor.brandon237 said:Considering I can count the number of times I have tried an alcoholic beverage on my fingers, I wouldn't know![]()
Ales on the other hand are usually darker, and stuff like Porter and Stout are like black, and usually have coffee and chocolate flavors. Guinness is a pretty common example. The Belgian ales I was talking about use a lot of pitted fruits like dates and figs and whatnot to flavor their beers.
It's kinda the difference between do you want to get drunk or do you want to enjoy what you're drinking. Personally, I don't like getting drunk, I want something I can take my time with and savor.
Nothing wrong with not wanting to get drunk. I've been drunk 1 time in my life, and that was on my 21st and to be honest, it kinda sucked. I felt down, I hurt myself, I threw up, and the night pretty much was kinda meh.brandon237 said:Personally (call me a freak) I never want to get drunk, so I will keep that in mind
And I can see myself digging this post up at my 18th...
I personally cannot understand the appeal of losing control of yourself and your inhibitions... nor in poisoning yourself. Although the last paragraph I have no problem with. Glad to see there is someone who is not telling me to get drunkElamdri said:Nothing wrong with not wanting to get drunk. Getting drunk is something that kids and alcoholics do (and the two are not mutually exclusive).
Having a drink or two every once in a while to loosen up and just to enjoy the drink itself is different; something responsible adults do.
