The Xbox 360 controller. Was really surprised on how it fits on your hand. I can remember when I first got the first Xbox controller, it was HUGE.

Honorable mentions would be the PS2 controller... And the NES controller still has its charm.

You're not alone on the N64 controller, I liked it as well. But my favourite would probably be the GameCube controller.

1. keyboard and mouse if it counts. if it dosnt then dreamcast. for me its the most comfortabe controller iv ever used.

2. n64.

3. the original giant xbox ones.

least fave.

wiimote + nunchuck. (wiimote on its own is fine so long as its held sideways and the game dosnt make you wave it about)

playstation. most uncomfotabe conrolers iv ever come across. they make my hands cramp, the sticks are akward to reach and all the buttons feel like your not actualy pushing anything... duelshock are the worst but the duel analogs were almost as bad.

I'm partial to the Xbox 360 Controller, myself. Except for the D-Pad, it's almost perfect.

Just fits your hands so well, and the button layout works really well for me.

With a decade and a half experience of console use I'd have to say the Xbox 360 controller. The dual analog sticks have a good balance between play and stiffness, the button layout is intuitive and easy to manage and most of all it has a decent amount of heft to it. The one thing that really irks me about the PS3 controller is the lack of size and weight; it feels like it is about to come apart in my manly hands any second.
I also liked the Dreamcast controller and the Gamecube controller.

Xbox 360>SNES>Gamecube>Dreamcast>Everything else>PS2/3.

The original dualshock was fine, but each new version has become lighter, less comfortable and easier to break. Plus, having joysticks in the same place is horribly unergonomic.

I personally like my graffiti-ified xbox360 controller, the random symbols and motto's I've used through the years are on it, and its also very nice looking, cause i took the lights they use to illuminate the XBOX button, and made them blue.
