An idiot Abroad Season 2 is now out, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchants current Gem ;)

Oh I know you only said 1 show but I cant help but mention the best thing to happen to TV

The walking Dead season 2, out on 21st October. CANT WAIT!

Off topic:

Could someone please tell me whats so good about my little pony?

like a quarter of the escapist community have one of them as their profile picture and im wondering whats so good about it.
I'm sure a lot of people here are going to give you a lot of reasons, but I'll try and sum them up here for ya bud.

Basically, the show gets all A's in the technicalities. Animation and aesthetics work well together, and while providing a base line for visual design, offer freedom for cartoonish exaggerations and actions.
The voice acting quality is just perfect (but then again, anything less than would be noticed and picked on). It's got some big names, including Tara Strong being the main character (voice of Timmy Turner, Clara and Toot from Drawn Together, Bubbles from PPG, e-... You know what, she's done a lot of work, 'kay? Same goes for the other main voice actresses).
The plots are not overly complicated and deep, but perfectly structured, and the simplicity of it makes a sort of soothing element, allowing for change of tone and pace at any moment to be organic, and not really jarring from the experience.
The characters are well defined, fleshed out, flawed, and individual. You'll find a favourite sooner or later.

READ THIS IF TL:DR - Basically, it's the best that it can be, so whether you like it or not is totally personal taste. I'd recommend watching an episode, but it takes some guts to make that first dive. I would personally recommend the first two episodes of season 2 more than anything, and then backtrack later.

Star Trek fan at all? Q, from Next Generations is playing the main villain in the newest episodes. I can link a combination episode if you want, commercials cut, full 44+ minutes included.

First step is the hardest.
(EDIT: 43 minutes, but technicalities. Still, if you've got the guts, try it out.)

Breaking Bad for whenever I want some heavy hitting stuff, then MLP:FiM for some light-hearted awesomeness.
All my other favorite shows aren't current because they keep getting canceled (Firefly, Pushing Daisies...why do you leave me?).

I'm miffed that I missed out on the Breaking Bad season start... will catch up via DVD, I guess.

Currently, I'd say that 'Person of Interest' and 'Reven8e' (not sure if that's supposed to be an 8, or a sideways infinity symbol...) top my list... but we do have a lot of other shows waiting on the DVR for processing. ('Fringe' and 'Terra Nova', to name a few)

I can't wait for 'Walking Dead' to come back, as well as a few BBC shows I've been waiting on.

Oh, and 'Up All Night' is absolutely HILARIOUS, if you're married/attached and gone and produced spawn of your own.

Doctor Who and Torchwood. I am crazy about them both. Though the more recent episodes of DW I've seen haven't been that good, but they are getting better. They're just trying to pack too much into too little.

Community, that show is grossly underrated. This season so far has been average though, not to mention a tad creepy, and kind of pandering to Jeff-Annie fanboys.. It's still better than pretty much everything on television.

Damn your rules it's Breaking Bad and Doctor Who, both about to end soon. And I guess It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but I don't know if I'm genuinely enjoying it or just going through the motions.

I know this is ineligable but I've actually been watching Oz, I just finished the Wire recently too.

Adventure Time. Just, hell yeah. Not even sure why I love that show. Maybe the really dark, post nuclear war undertones. Maybe the happy bright hilarity. Best kids show that doesn't feel like a kids show, ever.

Guess I also enjoy the U.S. Wilfred, too.

I'm going to be the first but I'm sure many will follow: As a big fan of cartoons my current favorite show is My little Pony: Friendship is Magic. When I saw what team Faust got together to work on this show it was clear to me that it won't be a silly girly thing but enjoyable for all.
Only 6 posts down. Can't say I didn't see it coming. MLP is really the only thing I watch on TV; I spend the rest of my free time on the internet, playing games and such. I would also say Burn Notice since I sometime watch that when I'm running at the gym (and it's pretty good IMO), but apparently it's ineligible.

I cannot believe I forgot Adventure Time. Only show besides MLP that I would be willing to take time out to watch on TV. If I had a TV... (I watch MLP on online streams when they air).

South Park.

Boring and obvious choice, but it's just too good to ignore. Second is probably House, particularly season two and six. Can't wait to get season seven!

Doctor Who and My Little Pony are neck and neck, but Doctor Who has its season finale tomorrow. So, yeah, my favorite current TV series is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

And I'm okay with that.
