I COULD answer this question seriously and say "The Chrono Cross Intro". Or, I could say

Anything with Dante in it!
So much this.

Lucifer is one of the best cutscenes I have ever seen, just because of Dante, the music, and the innuendo.

I really don't like the cutscenes in DMC4, either. To me it comes across as pointless posing, it's timewasting that's just getting it the way of actually playing the game, which is vastly more fun that watching any of those cinematics. What's worse is that the cinematics are frequent and lavishly produced while they skimped on the gameplay budget so much that they repeat almost all the levels and almost all the bosses. WTF?
So just like all the other Devil May Cry games? All of the games are like that, and myself and a lot of other people love them for it.

Opening cinematic to Resident Evil 2 ... the first game was amazing to me and seeing a sequel come to life the first time I turned it on was awesome ... I don't know why out of my 20+ years of gaming it had such an impact, but it did.

"No one deserves execution, no matter what their crime..."

Enough said. Greatest twist in video game history.

The opening cut scene to Symphony of the Night. I love seeing the super intelligent trying to talk sense into the head strong Ricter Belmont. Plus "Enough have at you" is easily one of the best video game lines ever.

You love a game not just despite but even for the fact that it skimps on gameplay for the sake of cinematics that are less fun that the gameplay they are interrupting? Er, OK, but don't expect everyone to agree with you.

Ok, probably not the best way I could have put it, but here we go.

I love the gameplay in all of them, and while there may be a lot of cutscenes, I enjoy them, and see them as the icing on the cake for each game.

I just don't like it when DMC4 gets shot down for backtracking, when all the rest of the series has massive amounts of backtracking as well..(one of the things it has kept since it originally going to be a RE game)

Probably because I just saw it, Final Fantasy XIII's ending cutscene.
Yeah, spoilers. Obviously.
It's so... so pretty...
EDIT:
After watching it again, I feel I should point out it's only REALLY good after about halfway through.

Pretty lousy quote. In my opinion, execution is lenient for some criminals.

Which video game, anyway?

I'm thinking the first battle between Nero and Dante. Let me tell you, Dante getting pinned to a statue with Rebellion and then pulling the sword out and walking it off was one of the most bad-ass things I've ever seen in my life.

Though I'm sure I'll think of something better in a day or two (or someone else here will bring one up that I'll agree with), since someone mentioned a scene from KotOR, I remembered the cutscene from KotOR 1, leading up to the big reveal about my character's true identity. First time I watched that, my jaw just dropped (I honestly didn't see it coming).

Either of the Cutscenes for Red Alert 2 or Red Alert 3, featuring the Hell March theme.
