For me, crysis 2 was amazing. The environmental are beautiful and the game is a blast. This may change tonight when i play Halo Anniversary

Can I say none?

I haven't yet got Halo CE Anniversary, but by all accounts it won't count anyway because they haven't changed the levels or anything from Halo CE, so it's still the same shooter from 2001.

I haven't played what I consider a good shooter in a while actually. Halo Reach was the last one I enjoyed, and even that was disapointingly short. Still better than Halo 2 and 3, but still.

Bulletstorm

To sum up the whole game, Original, Funny, and incredibly Fun!

Now if only more FPS games will follow this example, instead of a brown and grey slow generic scripted borefest.

The closest thing I've played to an FPS this year was Portal 2.

So I have to give the award to that.

For a year with such over-hyped releases, I think it's pretty slim.

The first shooter release I liked this year was Brink. I loved the hell out of it since it had almost everything I wanted in a shooter. Problem was that most people just didn't like it.

Then came Battlefield 3. I hadn't played a real battlefield game since 2142, and I loved what I did experience from all the other Battlefield games. I think it took the best out of every shooter game released so far and crammed it together.

I burnt out my CoD love on Black Ops, and MW3's smaller maps just make it seem too frantic with no real tactics. Also, why do they still have sniper rifles in MW3? They were practically useless before, and seem to be even more now.

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad is my favourite FPS of 2011. Never before have I played a FPS (an online one, at that) with such an incredible feel to it. The game does a great job of making you feel like a weak, expendable mook and the stuff the soldiers say is just amazing. I remember once when I was crossing a street and was shot in the gut. My screen went black and white and my character fell to his knees, clutching his gut with his hands. My screen began fading to black and my character said "Jesus... Maria... I feel cold..." before toppling over and dying. That is something very unique and memorable about this game, something that I haven't encountered in any other FPS I've played this year.

Out of the FPS's that I bought this year I have to agree with this. I found the single player to be downright atrocious (what little I played of it at least) but the multiplayer was right up my allay.

Deus Ex? It's in first person, and you definitely have the option to shoot people.

I didn't shoot anyone, but I could have. Does that count?

Hard choice between Modern Warfare 3 and Crysis 2.

Since my gaming PC isn't the best (laptop with a HD 5730 Radeon card) I'll prob have to go with Modern Warfare 3 because it runs so smooth even on low-end machines. If i had a super rig, I'd go with Crysis 2 i believe.

I'd say no. It's no more a first person shooter than, say, Metal Gear Solid 3 is a third person shooter.

To quote Yahtzees Minecraft review: "That's not what you're there for, in the same way you don't go to the beach to get sand kicked in your face."

Deus Ex: Human Revolution may not be a pure FPS, but it's still my current favourite.

Bulletstorm or Crysis 2. They're the only FPS I've liked so far. BF3 was terrible when it came to the campaign and I couldn't give a damn about the multiplayer even if I tried.

Deus Ex was pretty awesome. If not that game, then MW3 was also quite enjoyable.

Halo:CEA, however I doubt it counts because it's a "Remake" not a new game.

so mine is Crysis 2.
