I'm terrible at RTS's, but I still enjoyed Empire: Total War immensely.

I really like those old Adventure games that no one seems to make anymore, like Myst, or Yahtzee's freeware games. I find their concepts very appealing, but I'm just not the best puzzler or detective when it comes to searching around. They are the hardest games for me, but I do enjoy them.

RPG's I'm too impatient to level up characters so battles can often be frustrating for me in these games.

Like others have said, I love the idea of RTS games, but I've never been able to get good at any of them. I've played all the pre-WoW Warcraft games as well as Age of Empires II, AoE III, and Age of Mythology. I still can't beat a single online opponent, or a computer controlled opponent in a non-campaign match.

My runner up would have to be fighting games. I've logged dozens of hours in Marvel vs Capcom 2 but still can't beat my brother and his predictable Juggernaut/Sentinel/Cyclops combo.

I love FPS but I always seem to get shot at from behind and can never turn around. That genre is very fun to play but curse you camera controls! Why do you elude me?

I tend to just not play what I'm not good at.

But that's not really an answer, so I'll say FPS's. I'm just not as good as I should be at FPS's, mostly against other players, unless I have some sort of aim-assist or a shotgun.

That and stealth games. It is pretty fun to sneak up behind a dude (or in AC, walk calmly up behind a dude) and snap his neck/punch his ear/stab him. Unfortunately, I tend to panic and attempt a run-and-gun, or flat refuse to move for a good ten minuets.

Every game I guess. For example: I like FPS, but I always am at the bottom of the leaderboards.

EDIT: Now that I think about it I am good at stealth games. Well, I guess it's the only one really...

First Person Shooters. I love them so much but I'm just not that good at them. It really bothers me too, I don't know how some of my friends can snap off shots like they do. I can do it every once in a while but not with the consistency they can.

Ditto you then. I love fighting games, but I'm not all that great at them. I don't suck, but I seem to have reached a peak. I tended to have massive losing streaks in SF4, only pulling out wins once every 3 fights or longer. I think I fare better at BlazBlue, with my 58% win rate with Ragna and 50% win rate with Lambda.

I also love Bullet Hell games. I don't exactly suck at these either, but I still only have two 1CC's after roughly a year of playing. It also seems to be a problem of having a personal peak of skill. My perception and reaction doesn't seem to be getting any better lately. One can only look at so many bullets closing in at once before he simply can't find out a good escape route anymore. It's sorta like my other problem with fighting games: I can't deal with pressure very well. If the opponent is good at cornering me with relentless attacks, then I'll be lucky to get another hit in before I get cornered again anyway.

I guess, since I've played a lot of PS2 Grand Theft Auto, that I'm awful at console third-person shooters, but as a general matter I don't like the genre so much as there's one series I enjoyed.

Otherwise, I'm rock-solid at simulation and strategy gaming, probably because I've been playing them for 18 years now (since the original SimCity, on the SNES in 1992.)

i like fighting games but i suck at it. It would amaze me how good people are at street fighter 4. It would also get me angry because i sucked and it looked so much fun. So i actually sat down for about 4 or 6 hours and tried to learn it. i beat the game with every character on normal. Not a pro but got pretty good at it.

I absolutely love RTS games, but I am utterly horrible at multitasking. I can play a few on medium, but I'm stuck on medium, or even easy, for a large majority. I can't even do online play I'm so bad at resource management, troop building, and fighting at the same time. I can only do them separately (like I am amazing at the Total War series' battles and Tropico 3's economic management). I also like shooters, but the only one I'm any good at online is Halo Reach (surprisingly I'm 10x better at Reach than Halo 3, must be the armor lock).

Most action adventure games like God of War and the New Castlevannia. I fail when it comes to stringing/ remembering combos.

I suck at all games except for SSB Melee, Lineage 2, Perfect Dark and Total Annihilation. I've played them for the longest so I've got all the experience now.

Racing Games. I really want to like them but aside from the Burnout series, I can't get into them...and I basically suck at them. Same with fighting games but, I don't want to like them to be honest. Soul Caliber is alright and Mortal Kombat is fun in the same way as Happy Tree Friends but I am terrible at them.

Twitchy/tactical shooters, like CoD or CS. I'm terrible at them.

It's not a matter of having poor reflexes, map knowledge, or weapon selection; I think it's a matter of psychology for me. I enter into a tactical shooter with the intent to play tactically: systematically checking corners, clearing areas, setting traps, playing defensively, or working as a part of a team. Then I get wasted by the bunny hopper/dropshotter who runs into the room blindly and either is spraying and praying or physically incapable of anything but headshots. Or, I end up in a really good position across the map from where the action is; conversely, I'll be roaming around the "smart" areas to do so and everyone else is engaging in gratuitous slaughter in the middle of the map out in the open.

I just can't wrap my head around it; it's disconcerting, annoying, and quite frankly often enough a complete immersion-breaker. That's in very stark contrast to more action-based shooters like UT, Quake, or Halo in which I'm actually pretty good.
