I love a lot of chips. My favourites though have to be a tie between Pringles, Twisties (BBQ Is awesome!) or well any Chilli flavoured chips (Walkers sensations Chilli takes it).

I like Pringles.

We've also got these chips that I forgot the name of. They look like regular chips except twice as thick and they're flavored with sea salt and black pepper. They're awesome.

Ruffles are my favorite, because they are good and they have a weird slogan.
Ruffles have ridges. Ya its pretty lame, but I like it.

Fish and chips!

That's what 'chip' means here, anyway.

I'm eating some right now, plenty of salt and vinegar.
Vinegar...

That's one thing I never understood about British/Irish/whatever cuisine. You people put vinegar on your fries.

In the name of all that is holy, why? D:

British meaning of chips takes 1st place.

That said: used to like Pringles (way too expensive), now Doritos as my favorite.

Because it tastes incredible! The acidic wonderfulness saturates the potato in such a lovely way. Seriously, it is the sex.

And it's chips, dammit! Not fries!

Argh.
I'm neither American nor British, so I get to choose. And here in the Netherlands, we call crisps chips and chips friet (or patat, but let's ignore that one), and friet looks like fries (it sounds more like freet though) so I choose to use the American word. MY LOGIC IS INFALLIBLE!

Also, my browser's spell-checker seems to be set to American, so I tend to default to that version of the language.

I'm still upset..

Nah, I'm kidding. Actually, I think that chips and fries are actually two different things. Chips are typically the bigger, chunkier types favoured in the UK, Ireland and Australia, and fries are the spindly little things favoured in America and other places.

Incidentally, Poutine is awesome. That is all.
Ah, I guess the difference between fries and chips for you is like the difference between French fries and Belgian fries for me.

I've never had poutine...

Nothing tops Salt and Vinegar... anything. Chips, Crisps, Fries, Potato Skins, etc. Salt and Vinegar on all of them I say.

Actually, it's "Frieten". ^^
And I like them most with carbonade flamande and sweet mayonaise.
Washed down with an ice cold beer, or a strong trappist ale.
Yum.
