Band: Rammstein
Song: The sound of madness
Isn`t the sound of madness by shinedown?
there's nothing here that obligates my favorite song to come from my favorite band, is there?
but otherwise, you are right.

I know but by not putting the band in there it`s a tad ambiguous

I will get a cyber slap for this but punk beats metal everytime
I couldn't agree with you more
Well, I wouldn't say EVERY time... for instance, there have been many times post-1994 where "punk-rawk" sucked so hard it made me want to cry blood. But eighties hardcore (minor threat, bad brains, dead kennedys) will ALWAYS trump eighties metal (poison, Cinderella, power-ballad-copycats-#1138, etc.) except for Slayer, who in context count as a hardcore/metal crossover anyway.

OT - Amon Amarth - Fate of Norns

Also, it helps if you adhere to the rule of METAL bands and songs. MUCH less confusion on that front... :)

At the moment, it's Nothing Left by As I Lay Dying, but All That Remains takes up a good portion of my itunes library.

In Flames isn't left out, either.

Right now it's:

Song:Upon the Grave of Guilt
Band: Falconer

But for all time I'd say:

Song:the Greater Good of God
Band: Iron Maiden.

Or really anything by Maiden :p

Does Finnish Humppa count as metal?

If so (and it does), then mine is "Pine Woods" by Korpiklaani.
Humppa is just humppa, but folk metal on the other hand is metal.
Anyway: Happy little, happy little, happy little boozer!!

Your knowledge of obscure Euro-folk rock is clearly better than mine. I bow to you, with caveats.

Oh, and [Korpiklaani lyrics in Finnish I don't understand, something like "Fagalousch, fagalousch, koralimi san!"]

don't have a favorite for either one but mine are

Walk with me in hell by Lamb of God
hallowed be thy name, nymphetamine, the foetus of a new day kicking, and tonight in flames by cradle of filth
the pot, lateralus, and ticks and leaches by tool
and the majority of Nine Inch Nails' music

Well, being a Finn, I ought to know something about our folk music. Korpiklaani is basically a folk band turned metal, with traditional folk music instruments, like accordion (!), included. A weird concept, but still works like Hell. Oh, and humppa is a Finnish version of fast foxtrot, sort of.

Yeah, people I know here in America just says it sounds like metal polka.
