there's nothing here that obligates my favorite song to come from my favorite band, is there?timmytom1 said:Isn`t the sound of madness by shinedown?Aptspire said:Band: Rammstein

but otherwise, you are right.
Well, I wouldn't say EVERY time... for instance, there have been many times post-1994 where "punk-rawk" sucked so hard it made me want to cry blood. But eighties hardcore (minor threat, bad brains, dead kennedys) will ALWAYS trump eighties metal (poison, Cinderella, power-ballad-copycats-#1138, etc.) except for Slayer, who in context count as a hardcore/metal crossover anyway.MisterAnarchist said:Sonata Arctica-Kingdom for a HeartI couldn't agree with you morepiers789 said:I will get a cyber slap for this but punk beats metal everytime
Also, it helps if you adhere to the rule of METAL bands and songs. MUCH less confusion on that front...timmytom1 said:I know but by not putting the band in there it`s a tad ambiguousAptspire said:there's nothing here that obligates my favorite song to come from my favorite band, is there?timmytom1 said:Isn`t the sound of madness by shinedown?Aptspire said:Band: Rammstein

Humppa is just humppa, but folk metal on the other hand is metal.TheBluesader said:Does Finnish Humppa count as metal?
If so (and it does), then mine is "Pine Woods" by Korpiklaani.
Your knowledge of obscure Euro-folk rock is clearly better than mine. I bow to you, with caveats.Incredible Bullshitting Man said:Humppa is just humppa, but folk metal on the other hand is metal.
Anyway: Happy little, happy little, happy little boozer!!
Well, being a Finn, I ought to know something about our folk music. Korpiklaani is basically a folk band turned metal, with traditional folk music instruments, like accordion (!), included. A weird concept, but still works like Hell. Oh, and humppa is a Finnish version of fast foxtrot, sort of.TheBluesader said:Your knowledge of obscure Euro-folk rock is clearly better than mine. Oh, and [Korpiklaani lyrics in Finnish I don't understand, something like "Fagalousch, fagalousch, koralimi san!"]
Yeah, people I know here in America just says it sounds like metal polka.Incredible Bullshitting Man said:Well, being a Finn, I ought to know something about our folk music.
