I once read a book where the main character had a gun that defied the laws of physics by firing a full send before you pulled the trigger, I dont remember the specifics but i do remember your not dodging something like that.

1: Warp Drive from Star Trek
2: The Tillinghast Resonator (It was science fiction back in the 19th century, so deal)
3: Chainsaw Swords (Warhammer 40k. Most badass space opera since He-Man)

Plasma... all plasma weapon kick serious arse.
Plasma is already real. In fact, a group of physicists have even created cold plasma. Thing is, what you're referencing is an incorrect interpretation of the idea of plasma by oh so many sci-fi novelists.

The Heart Of Gold. Think about it. You could do anything as long as you know the direct probability factor of it happening. Even go back in time and punch Douglas Adams for screwing up the ending of Mostly Harmless. That seems like a fair trade if all I need to do live with a gay computer.
Seconded, I hated the ending.

Anyway, I choose not only the Heart of Gold, but all kinds of interstellar/intergalactic spacetravel. Being limited to this small hump of rock, I feel so confined, I wanna go out there, explore the vast universe (well let's start with this galaxy huh?).

Honerable mentions go to Holodeck technology, only without a 'kill switch'. I don't know who wanted to install that, but I rather not take risks, and keep my ultra-awesome game console (you won't get any better) safe.

The DeLorean or the TARDIS

Time Travel is awesome, but impossible :(
Time travel is very possible... you're doing it right now.
Hmm, sort of.

Travelling backwards through time is impossible then >_>

Neural nanonics because having a computer in your brain is awesome, cool, funky boots. (Peter F. Hamilton)
On a related but different note having a backup stack in your neck guaranteeing that anything short of vaporisation is survivable [well in a different body] is cool. (Richard Morgan)
