Im surprised that no one has said the call of duty theme
There's music in Call of Duty? Seriously. I've never heard it which is weird because the quality of the music is is part of how I judge a game.

The WoW soundtrack reminds me of ruinscape
Blasphemy! Heresy! Burn him! And to add some credibility to this BS: I don't know if the music has changed in the 5-6 years since I quit runescape but I just don't think that the artificial electronic tones compare with the full orchestra/choir Blizzard brought to the table for WoW. I guess its true that on some level all fantasy music sounds the same, but thats because they're all trying to provoke the same emotions and create the same sense of wonder at this fantasy world they are trying to portray.

OT: Damn it Cowabungaa that was like beating a guy walking out of an AA meeting over the head with a 5th of Jack. SW:TOR needs to come out so I can get my MMO fix or the shakes are going to start...
You're welcome. If it means anything, it pains me just as much. Especially as I've got several people asking me to join their server. I might actually give in, I won't raid anyway.
Ugh I know. I've got friends trying to get me to come back against the protests of "damn it guys I just quit the stuff and YOU ARE NOT HELPING!". But I'm off topic.

I remember sitting around on the loggin screen just listening to the theme music on some days. The 7/4 segments were incredible and will probably go down on my list of favorite music ever.

I'm really enjoying Assassins Creed 2. A lot of care and love was put into that, and I can tell. I also use soundtracks and music as a moon setter for gaming (think, D&D). I like to keep my ears open for nifty tunes that work for what I need them for. :)

Gosh, there are so many... I'm going to go with "Zork: Nemesis" by Mark Morgan, but "The Longest Journey" by Bjørn Arve Lagim & Tor Linløkken is a close second, with "The Curse of Monkey Island" by Michael Land not far behind. And Jeremy Soule's work always holds a special place in my heart with both "Morrowind" and "Oblivion" but also "Icewind Dale", and there's also Inon Zur with "Dragon Age: Origins" and "Baldur's Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal". Oh, I forgot Michael Hoening's brilliant work with Baldur's Gate 1 & 2. And Jack Wall, of course!! With "Jade Empire" and the "Mass Effect"'s, he's definitely a favorite of mine. Ooooh, there's Peter McConnell's marvelous "Grim Fandango", too.

Gaaaah!!!!! I can't choose just *one*!!!

If we're talking about complete soundtrack, I'd have to go with Silent Hill 2. It's 30 songs with a large array of types of music, from ambient to metal to piano music.

Any of the Grand Theft Auto games, the radio was one of the highlights of the games.

I always say Beyond Good & Evil in these threads and this one shall be no different! Here's one of the fighting themes. The part at around 3:40 always gives me the (good kind of) chills.
Another awesome short track.
Propaganda!
This is from propably the saddest part in any game I've played. Contains BG&E spoiler, pretty big one.

Especially after you kill Shephard, that was some quality music there.
Er, you might want a spoiler tag there.

Seconded, AC2 does have some nice music which blends into the game perfectly.

My personal fave though is the music that was on Bladestorm. Nice and bombastic for all the big battles and such.

Most of Nobuo Uematsu's work for the Final Fantasy series and Jeremy Soule's work for the Elder Scrolls Franchise do it for me.

But my current most played soundtrack is probably Bayonetta's. It's such a crazy mix of genres for a such a crazy game, it's hard for me NOT to like it. Also, anything with 8-bit remixes of the game's signature tracks as well as remixes of tunes from classic Sega games is an instant win for me.
