Spec Ops: The line without a doubt.
Although I've spent more time playing DayZ than anything else so when the standalone comes out it'll probably be that. Really enjoyed Endless Space as well though.
Mass Effect 3 was fun, but I honestly forgot about it until I read the other posts so I guess that says something.

Mass Effect 3. For all its warts, still one of the finest games I've played.

I haven't played Dishonored yet, however, and Borderlands doesn't interest me at all.

Haven't looked into Dishonored yet, but I'll add to the votes for either ME3, or Spec Ops: the Line.

Hm. Probably The Binding of Isaac: Wrath of the Lamb, considering how much I played that. Then again, Torchlight 2 is catching up in these recent weeks...

Isn't it kind of pathetic that many people only seem to be mentioning games that game out in the last few months/weeks? Resident Evil 6? Spec Ops: The Line? Mass Effect 3?

You don't think Diablo 3 was good? (I didn't but I'm sure some people might) What about Journey, don't people think that game's a work of art or something? SSX remains the best sports game series in creation, no? How about the release of Minecraft? Don't people think The Walking Dead is the last word in casual gamer dope? Sleeping dogs?
Spec-Ops: The Line came out in like June. ME3 came out in March (which was before Diablo 3).

And for the record, I thought Diablo 3 was atrocious. To the tune of I didn't even finish the campaign once, because I hated it that much. Worst $60 I've ever spent.

It's a toss up between Dishonored, Borderlands 2, and Spec Ops: The Line. Sleeping Dogs was also good, but in my eyes, it's not GOTY worthy. The rest of the games were "meh" to me.

Edit: Nevermind. Borderlands 2 wins for me. As much as I love Dishonored, Borderlands 2 was something else.

Probably either Mass Effect 3 or Dishonored. I put so many hours into the former and enjoyed them all, but the fewer hours in the latter were also absolutely amazing. Shear quantity isn't a substitute for quality and both completely succeed in straight up quality. Damn good games, I don't know if I'm able to choose.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the Walking Dead episodes. Almost peerless in making me care so much about characters in such a short amount of time. Almost.

Mass Effect 3 came out 7 months ago.

Either way, I don't gauge my enjoyment of a game based on how recently I've played it, otherwise how in the hell is the original Legend of Zelda from 1986 one of my favorite games of all time?

Dishonored, by far. That game is utterly fantastic, though Borderlands 2 is quite enjoyable as well.

For me it's Borderlands 2. I haven't bought Dishonored yet, waiting for a Steam sale, so my opinion might be different if I bought it. But for right now, it's definitely Borderlands 2.

It's between Mists of Pandaria, Borderlands 2, and Mass Effect 3 for me.

Hard choice, I feel like all 3 did some things really well and some things very, very poorly.

The Walking Dead games, and this is coming from someone who didn't mind the original ME3 ending.

This is actually a really hard choice. Right now it's between Mass Effect 3 and Spec Ops; The Line. Both of them had well written plots, but I'd give that award to Spec Ops. However, Mass Effect 3 had better flowing gameplay and length on its side.

I have it narrowed to 5 titles;
Mass Effect 3 for everything other than the last 10 minutes
The Walking Dead for the great story
Transformers Fall of Cybertron for the great set pieces and the last mission was just epic
Borderlands 2 for an amazing story and hilarious writing
and Dishonored for great stealthing.

I think the GOTY contenders for the awards shows will be as follows (in no particular order)
Mass Effect 3 (Won't win, but it will be nominated a lot)
Spec Ops: The Line (probably the best work of videogame art this year, even surpassing journey, this will be impossible to ignore)
FTL (Might be one of the dark horses this year)
Borderlands 2 (might win)
Halo 4 (might win depending on how it shakes up the formula)
Journey (another dark horse because of its short length)
Dishonored (another dark horse because of length)

pure speculation
Hitman:absolution
assassins creed 3
