I would say Dark Souls, but I played the console version which came out last year, so technically it can't be my GotY, but love the DLC though.

I think it will be The Walking Dead, because that will be a game I will remember a long time.

This year really has been disappointing and dull for gaming.

Guild Wars 2, and though DayZ isn't really a contender due to its bugginess, it should definitely get some form of recognition

Dishonored
I would add a little more content to that post, if I were you. Mods will come swooping in with warnings for low content posts.

OT: It's a tough choice for me. So many good games had come out. Right now it's a toss up for me between Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Dragon's Dogma, Dishonored and Tales of Graces f.

Mass Effect 3

1: I love it
2: Only game that came out this year that I've bought this year!

(Getting ACIII next week but I don't think it'll knock ME3 off the top spot!)

Mark of the Ninja. But I haven't played any of this years' AAA releases aside from Mass Effect, so it could easily end up changing into Spec Ops or Dishonored when I get to buy them during the steam sales.

Hmmm, there are a few I could pick, all of them for different reasons:

Spec Ops: The Line: I don't recall being so engaged to a game that I wasn't having fun at.

Max Payne 3: I think it's the sequel it deserved, not the one most people wanted. I personally enjoyed it a lot. And the story while not entirely deep or meaningful, it's a good noir story, that had to face the challenge of being mostly on daylight.

Lollipop Chainsaw: Probably no one will agree this game is GOTY material, but I had fun, I replayed it a lot, and the return of the score system in single player was more than welcome to me.

Whatever is left to be released, I don't have any hope it'll be better for me to those I mentioned.

Peace out!

Actually, Max Payne 3 gave me a huge headache. Stupid 'art' style, screen flickering, so much headache.
Would you say it gave your head MAX PAIN. Hahahahaha okay I'll be quiet now.

OT: I'm really not sure what games came out this year that I have. I guess I'll go with borderlands 2 or xcom for breaking the mold, though I confess I haven't played either of them extensively yet.

Definitely Spec ops: the line and then in joint second place we have Dishono(u)red, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Dragons Dogma.

Spec ops deserves it, try's something new and pulls it off superbly and I doubt I'll ever forget it. The problem with all my second places is they all have a flaw, DH has a shit story but an amazing everything else. Final fantasy's awesome and it's nice to have it back on form, best FF in awhile, but I see it as Square experimenting and not a proper game and Dragons Dogma is amazballs but it's too big and travelling can get tedious, it'd be nice if we could have a horse, or a griffin and maybe more places to visit and maybe a home base that isn't an inn.

Resident Evil Revelations, That was one of my favorite games that I played this year.
Then probably Borderlands 2, Mass Effect 3, or Spec Ops: The Line.

Mass Effect 3.

Gotta admit I was pleasantly surprised to see that a number of people named it already on the first page alone. Nice to see that not everyone was slitting their wrists over that game. If you ask me, the EC successfully tied together the ending, and the Leviathan DLC was really neat.

Edit: P.S. I'm really hoping that Assassin's Creed III turns out better than Revelations. I'm hoping even more that they at least got rid of that pain-in-the-ass tower defense game. Just a bullshit waste of time, and the only true motivation to train your minions up to Master status just so their tower couldn't get attacked anymore.

Not sure whether it would be Mass Effect 3 or Dishonoured, hard to choose though. Pre DLC fixed ME3 ending was awful and Dishonoured is a little on the short side.
