What is your IQ?

Actually, it is very hard to compare IQ test scores even when conducted by an official instance, since pretty much every testing scheme uses a different standard deviation. For instance, I know that most tests in europe are "accurate" to measure up to 3 times the standard deviation of 15, meaning any test only scores up to 145.

Of course we can leave it up to americans to generally use a larger standard deviation, resulting in more extreme values for the same people.

So, even though people love spamming this topic, we are really just comparing apples and pears.

Just remember that IQ isn't a score, it's just a measurement. Higher does not necessarily equal better. Other than that I'm appearently above what MENSAs online test could measure, and the test urged me to take a IRL test under their supervision.
And all for a modest administrative fee?
Possibly :p But still, if I'd passed that test with an IQ higher than (insert number here), I'd be allowed to join them! :p
Yeah, there are a shitpot of organisations out there like mensa, many of which actually have higher 'IQ' requirements to join. To be honest, mensa rank pretty low on the Elitist Smart Bastard club lists... I mean, anyone in the 98th percentile? Shit, they might as well let just anyone walk in off the street.

Personally, I don't see the point of them. If I'm going to join a club I'd want to having something more in common with the members than just 'we're all smart pricks'. Now if there were a mensa like group that also involved a lot of drinking, playing darts and listening to aggressive music in pubs I'd consider applying... Maybe with membership only available to people in the 99.9th percentile, just to show those mensa thickies. :D

I refuse to pay for something like that, and anything on the internet claiming to be an IQ test is spam.

I took it a few years back and got 130, but I never really thought it meant that much.

Now mine is around the 129-135 range which is lower then when I was tested when I was 7 which really depresses me.
DAMN YOU CARTOONS,VIDEO GAMES AND INTERNET!!!
jk
My IQ was pretty normal, 126. I don't give these things a lot of credit, I used to get really high numbers from these online tests as a kid, but they've been downhill ever since.

My theory: When we're kids, we're ranked against other kids, who aren't nowhere near as boring as we are, and take the test as a joke, or just click through the answer without giving thinking twice. Compared to these kids, we get high results.

However, when people grow older, and get more boring, they spend more time doing these tests, scoring higher results. This makes you and I feel bad about ourselves, throwing us into tantrums about videogames and cartoons.

Screw you, mega man!

Let's brag some more about how incredibly smart we are on the internet! :D

These threads are always so predictable. Moreover they don't add any discussion value, just a bunch of guys pulling numbers out of their asses to impress virtual strangers.

Also if anyone's interested my IQ is somewhere between shfifty five and OVER 9000

Thank you, good day.

Think it's somewhere around 127. Fair enough, I'm not insecure. Right?
Wait a second, I forgot... just because you have a high IQ, doesn't necessary mean you're actually all that clever. Though it does mean that you have really good logic skills.

And, I do have an elder sister who is a Mensa member. IQ around 147 I think. Sometimes I'm pretty sure I'm smarter than her... sometimes not so much.

I had mine taken when I was in college. I had a score of 168, so I guess I'm pretty good at answering stupid, irrelevant, impractical questions.

I also went to a Mensa meeting once. Never have I witnessed a bunch of bigger bores. No, thank you.

Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to lament my mind-numbing office job.

My "Age Adjusted" IQ is 132. The average it says is 100. It classed me as gifted.
..
Accurate or not, the paragraph describing gifted was lovely ego food. xD

Tell me about it. Every single forum thread I have EVER read with regards has to IQ tests has everyone saying they're 120+. Usually 140+(Genius).

The best ones are people claiming to have a higher IQ than Einstein. Those are a riot.

I did it a while ago, but I can't remember the score. It was pretty low, just above the average, I think, but I don't really care. I've never been particularly smart.

The amount of outright liars in this thread is hilarious though.

Smartest community on the net? Right....
Funny how the people saying that they have IQs of 150+ seem to lack an understanding in bell curve interpretation, fail to acknowledge the almost infinitesimal probability that the score is actually true, and don't seem to know the way in which such an IQ ought to manifest [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IQ_reference_chart] itself, isn't it?
