Music performance.

I know, I know, it's crazy......Still, I'm hopeful.
WHat's you're instrument? I was a performance major as well (Clarinet, obviously), with a double in recording engineering.

Best of luck to you!
Oh man! I play in the US Army Band on Clarinet! Awesome! :^)
Based in DC, or elsewhere?

I want to be a Games Journalist at ONM, so does anyone know if there's an especially suitable thing for me to take? Thanks if you do.

Don't quote me but I'd think technical writing would be the best bet.

Archaeology with a minor in Greek and Roman history (emphasis on warfare, I also may make it a double major). I go to the University of Calgary now, but I'd like to go to the University of Toronto for my masters and phd. I'm not sure though, perhaps somewhere in Europe, but not the states.

My gaming had little to do with my academic studies, although it is disheartening going to assist with excavations and be unable to game for a month or two.

I'm a cinema major focusing on film studies and production. Not a bad thing if I do say so myself, but bloody difficult to get anywhere in. I might end up triple majoring in Business and Liberal Studies to make up for it. But hey, I love movies.
thank GOD someone at least mentioned film. i read this whole forum trying to find something related in the slightest. I, personally, am an aspiring director. i know that anything involving film is damn near impossible to go anywhere in but i was wondering if you had any tips for someone going off to college in the hopes of getting involved in movies. frankly im interested in anything to do with them. sound, directing, writing, animating, constructing...any pearls of wisdom?
Look for internships, and be prepared to pay a lot of money to get anything done. A short film of about 6mins can run you about $7-8000 in production costs. Animation is a lot harder to get into, it's basically a game of wait and see. Sound is pretty easy, you just need to have a good ear and be well trained in the software. As for writing, and this pretty much goes for all of them, always take english class. It will help you a lot when it comes for coming up with a story and fleshing things out. A drama class or two might be helpful as well.

I'm out of school, but I've got a BS in computer science, and not for my love of games (which still burns strongly mind you). It is for my love of math!

Seriously, I was first place in the state two years in math league in high school (I was especially proud when I beat out that korean kid, man he was a bastard), I took all sorts of extra math classes in college, etc.

I'm considering going back to school to do some graduate work, or maybe not. I like the idea of academia, I'm just not sure I want to deal with students.

EDIT: Props to all the clarinet players out there! Represent!
