What is your college/university major? What made you choose it? Where are you going to school? Did your love of games influence your choice? If you're still in grade school, just give us your tentative choices.
- I'm currently a med student.
- Mostly an interest in biology and how the body works.
- In Germany, I won't be any more precise than that.
- Not really. I think it was more my frequent doctor's appointments as a child for allergic hyposensibilization that got me interested.
I always had a fascination for all those nifty tools and doodads doctors use.
I even got my doctor to let me keep the empty syringes (without the needles of course).

Archaeology. Gotta love getting the chance to study a 1500 year old roman skeleton with your own actual hands and stuff like that, but kinda hate the fact that since I'm an undergraduate I don't get paid for working in digs. Plus Indiana Jones was my childhood hero which led to a somewhat huge dissapointment when a bullwhip was not provided by the department. Chose my uni due to the excellent reputation of their archaeology and classics department, plus it's an amazing place for students to live in. These days I rarely play video games, so can't really say it has effected my choice of course and uni.

I'm working on a double major in Communication and Political Science, with an honours major in Communication, where I plan to write a thesis on the depiction of war in video games, so I guess you could say that decision was influenced by video games. I kind of got shuffled into communication when I expressed an interest in journalism, and I took a couple of poli sci courses out of interest; I ended up falling in love with both of them.

My plan was always to go into Comp Sci as a result of my love for video games, and I did. But, as my high school graduation drew nearer, I discovered I have a passion for screwing around with hardware, too. I also realized that there's an increasing number of CS majors, many of whom don't have a clue when it comes circuitry. Those two factors led me to take up Computer Engineering as my second major. I still get a kick out of the bewildered looks I get when I'm replacing SMDs by hand at work.

(I can make a computerized system do practically anything, but I'll probably get stuck with a job putting web pages on toasters. :/ )
