The sequence where a character in either a movie or a video game has to fight their back out the way they just came in in order to escape to an evac or escape some sort of impending disaster. Aye. Since when do reinforcements just hide and wait while their comrades are being mown down? Halo 3 is especially guilty of this.

I seem to be the only one who ever notices this, but think of a movie where something falls from the sky. Whether it be a meteor, UFO, airplane, whatever. There is ALWAYS a shot of a crowd of people, and almost all of them are pointing at it as if no one else can fucking see it. The thing is taking up the entire skyline, we can see it. Only a blind person wouldn't be able to see it, in which case pointing would still be useless.

The main characters love interest dies so what does he do? Yells her name at the top of his lungs.

All aliens having colourful ships and using energy weapons. I'd like to see some sci-fi aliens with wicked ballistic technology, missiles and big boxy gunmetal grey battleships.
District 9.
Has a few energy weapons but the tech is awesome. Why haven't you watched it yet?!

Also, Aliens land in the United States and nowhere else, only America can save the day ... etc

I'd like a movie where the bad guys won for once, on equal grounds. The good guys always winning tends to get old.
They did and it was horrible. It was called the star wars prequels.
I wish I could give you a thumb-up or points or something for this. You deserve a star.
Thanks dude, but another chance to bash the franchise-killers is thanks enough for me! :)

aliens land and only wish to destroy the earth

out of sight, out of mind vs. absence makes the heart grow fonder

America assuming that they are the best thing the world has seen since sliced bread

walking away from huge explosions
