I hate, hate, hate when the hero has to decide between saving the woman he loves or the lives of many more people. What pisses me off about it is that he'll always find a way to do both. Also, if you choose to save your girlfriend over saving the world, you're kind of a dick. Just saying.

Tim Burton movies. ([small]kidding...[/small])

The villain's unnecessarily long monologue about how awesomely immortal he's going to be once he reaches "his true potential" when the main protagonist could kill him at this point.* Although the ending to Fable 2 made me laugh (and cry a little) inside.

*The main villain may have the protagonist's main love interest hostage at this point, so killing him to save the world above one person might be a bad idea.

A very VERY competent villain is always one top in the beginning but at the end they might as well have been really loud chihuahaus (may have misspelled).

Also how a super hacker just so happens to like video games (and is a god at them too mainly due to hacking skills). Oh and they are usually jerks in the games too.

I hate when the main character is a hardened badass who feels nothing and cares about nothing. Marcus Fenix from Gears of War is a good example of this.
