The power of unnoticability.
It's like being invisible, but people don't notice it like invisibility when they see the floating Swiss Cake Roll.
Being Unnoticeable means that in retrospect, you realize that that guy was an idiot for not noticing me walk up to him and steal his wallet.
(Also makes being a hero much less risky and a lot funnier on cameras)
Also, I need to turn it on and off.
Long story short, even invisibility can get you noticed

You know what? Skin of Tolerance.

Yeah, you know how that was in Unforgotten Realms? Kind of like that. I am exactly what you expect to see, and ultimately acceptable no matter where I go. Nobody will ever know that I am a different race or even species, so even animals will be like "Ho yeah! This boy's on MY side!" and be all bygones and shit. Imagine walking into the African Savannah, the Amazon Basin, or even Los Angelas...and NOBODY bothers you EVER, because you look the part and seem alright.

Of course, I still get to do whatever the hell to anyone else, so yeah.

(Oh, and for those of you keeping score on what kind of ability this is, don't worry about it being reality-warping, time-based, or somehow all mental. It's just an optical illusion...)
I must say that sounds pretty damn nice.

The ability to turn into a dragon... simple, yet awesome.
I'm assuming you played some Breath of Fire at some point. Always an awesome power!

I've actually thought of a few cool powers that I would like.

Ability to control wind. Imagine what you could do with the ability to create tornado and hurricane force winds.

Ability to control gravity. Who needs super strength when you can make a truck weigh a pound? Or make yourself weightless.

Electrical powers like in inFamous. Yes, I know it was already said, but it's still cool.

Any one of these would be cool.

I would want the ability to heal from any wound almost instantly like wolverine. Not only would I be forever young, I would also be in the best shape a human can be in with practically no need for rest between workouts. The downside is that I still feel pain. So if I get hit by say a flamethrower, I would heal just fine in a matter of seconds but still have to bear the pain of being horribly burned.

Full control of body temperature and tolerance.
Like a cross between iceman and the human torch. One minute a walking icicle freezing things as I pass and the next flying in my personal thermals.

In my opinion this is one of the biggest flaws in traditionally depicted super fast heroes. They perceive reality at the same speed as everyone else. This simply could not work. They would need to live a lifetime in the time we lived a few days. If they could run at the speed of light they would live the equivalent many lifetimes (I cant remember exactly how many) while we all lived just one
To me the biggest problem is the fact they do this in atmosphere. Friction's a *****, at high enough speed passing through the air would be like you or I running full tilt at a reinforced concrete wall.
Read one post up from your own ;)

That was posted while I was composing mine.
Bypassing your own limitations I can see, it's possible to come up with any amount of explanations to allow for the twitch muscle speed, heat resistance, how your body doesn't simply tear\crush itself apart, the ridiculous strength required, how you breath, and so and and so forth. But you want to simply ignore universal limitations?
Well the ability is "To be able to travel the speed of light" while admittedly I have not stated I had to survive this travel, it was implied. The other argument Ive been having in this thread is should the ability to perceive at the speed of light also be included in this power.

My argument is that the ability to perceive at this speed is intrinsic to surviving travelling at this speed and so must also be included.
fair enough, just teasing really. I'd like to hear an explanation on how you avoid issues with the speed/mass relationship though :p

Xangi said stubbing your toe at light speed would be like a billion nukes, but really long before that you'd be either be crushed by your own gravity well or be pulling in some pretty heavy objects like say, planets and stars.

I always thought Iceman was cool so I guess I'd take his power.

An ironic power - What if you had the power of Syler from Heroes but no one else has super powers because they aren't real?

Immortality (no aging either), with a side of fire control and wings (Tail too if I have full control over it, you can do a lot with a tail). I could then easily take over the world and get enough Jell-O pudding to fill up the Grand Canyon. Or I'd fill it up with money and swim in it like Scrooge McDuck.

Hm...maybe a werewolf? Not those...wolfman kind of things, more like the stuff that Goldenwolf draws. :D

Regenerative abilities, increased strength, stamina, speed, acute senses of hearing and smell, improved night vision...not to mention being able to rip people into little itty-bitty pieces.

And of course being able to shapeshift into a seven foot tall mixture of wolf and man.

I would love to have the ability to use Copy, Paste and Undo.
Imagine taking your paycheck, cashing it, and using copy/paste on your wad of cash? $100 can become $10,000 very quickly...

Actually Xangi is wrong anyway, which if he had read my post he would know, a nuke is fission, which is separation particals, the compression of your foot hitting an object at the speed of light more likely to fuse particals than split them, hence you would get fusion not fission.

If we assume that your body is physically able to travel at speeds without suffering compression, and we are guna have to assume something here since the whole point of a super power it to be able to do something your not able to actually do, then your not in danger of becoming a singularity because you cant compress. Removing that as an issue. If we say I can only travel 1nm/s slower than the speed of light, this prevents me actually travelling the speed of light so removes all the weird you become energy crap.

Moving at speeds so intense, it appears as though I'd teleported. Also, whenever I use this power a wisp of black smoke appears wherever I'd just moved from.

Strength would also be cool.

even immune to compression you'd still increase mass. But this could go on all day.

It's some serious hand-waving away problems though, ultimately super-speedsters actual powers would be:

"The type of guy superman would revere as a superhero, with the added ability to alter the rules of physics."

First of to use this ability I carry two toy cap guns, not real just toys.

My power is that what ever I think of is what the gun fires.

However it can only be things that exist in real life, and I have to see them first.

Also cookie to whoever guesses what anime and characters I based this power off.

Alex Mercer like shape-shifting.
Mostly just to run and jump around like I have leg muscles the size of tree trunks.
Not to mention that if someone tries to pick a fight with me I can just change my hands into giant claws and they'd back off pretty quickly.

Hopefully I could get it without that whole eating people requirement.

I like the ability to take the abilities of others. Kinda like Rogue from X-Men, but controllable... like Sasuke Uchiha from Naruto... but less angsty... So i guess i'll take the Sharingan. :D
