^Is there really a debate like this in a thread about superpowers? Can't we just assume standard 'it's magic/science!' and move on? Yikes.

I would like to control water. I could breathe under water, generate water, turn myself into water and make it do whatever I want. I could freeze it, evaporate it and bend it to my will. I would be unstoppable! :D

I've always liked the idea of being able to liquefy and solidify metal in direct contact with me. It's a versatile enough ability that you can do all sorts of cool stuff but it's weak enough that stuff (gunmen, nature etc.) still poses a threat.

Prescience. Although only for certain events I want to see. I don't want to be having premonitions all day of other people's lives... That would suck.

EDIT: Or I'd like to be Gambit from X-men... just sayin.

Simple answer from me would either range from powers of say the T-1000 or Cells power or even Albert Weskers power and not forgetting Bartholemew Kuma's power or heck for an ultimate one how about the undying schrodinger from Hellsing Ultimate now thats a power worth having.

Wasn't the powers meant to be balanced? You guys are wasting a blank check by not adding the negative side.

I can turn invisible, but can only activate it by kicking myself in the face. Or by yelling "I'm getting fed up with this orgasm."

Probably to be able to alter peoples perception of things, like make something look like something else, but it would have to be similair shape and size,
THINK OF THE DISGUISE. Yeah, or fake money, Pretty much like that guy in Push, not very creative on my part but damn kick ass

just for your future use if you want to make your statement stand out more put [*h1] [/*h1]tags around it. with out the *'s of course

OT: I'm usually in the Time Manipulation group I like the idea of being able to sands of time my way out of any mistake. I would say the ability to see a short time in to the future, but that might be considered a reality power.

but limited like I am I'd go for an elemental power like water
the ability to control water
with enough practice I could rip all the water out of a human body
or just spit lugies like bullets

Alternately you could try and artificially manufacture them but I wouldn't place much faith in that since we STILL cant do that, looking at our fusion projects its easier to manufacture the sun than it is oil.
ah, well played and take your win, damn you! :p

I'm not going to argue that while chemically possible my life would be a complex and difficult thing to bring into fruition. Significantly more so than our own ridiculously improbable happenstance of existence.
I reckon we'll be able to manufacture complex hydrocarbons on day but now fusion has grasped at break-even we, by rights, should get that sun in a box beforehand.

edit: REM'd the uberquotes

You know, as an intellectual exercise, I like to imagine that I'm the mutant Mimic and that I am capable of retaining the powersets of five powered individuals simultaneously. Then I try to come up with the combination of five characters that gives the most useful abilities.

I usually settle on Wolverine/Spider-Man/Jean Grey/Cypher/Sage. Of course, that's multiple powers-- multiple power sets-- and includes two telepaths so that's right out.

Out of that list, I'd instantly pick Cypher. Instantaneous and complete understanding of all forms of communication.

Of course, I'm also tempted to go with Multiple Man. Or even Multiple Santa, in a pinch.

Energy manipulation. Conversion of energy types to other types, like absorbing attacks and shooting them back in bolts of raw fire or something, but with some form of in built limiter. Try to absorb too much and I explode!

I'd love the power of an Animagus/animorph.

Does anyone remember that show Animorphs? It was pretty retarded, but it had an awesome premise; you have to power to transform into any animal you sample via skin contact.

It's cool and it has reasonable drawbacks. You can become something like a dog or cat easily, but you probably won't beable to become a tiger or something without putting yourself in danger.
Personally I'd go to Healsville Sanctuary and get to touch a Wedge-Tailed Eagle or falcon.

Don't be decieved, this fucker is huge. :D

SO, does anyone else agree with me that that'd be an epic superpower?
