Hmm, that actually looks incredibly useful. Much more useful than a dedicated floodgate. Are they being added in 1.6?
I don't think they're scheduled yet, but Notch has said they're planning to add them and the entire Minecraft forum seems to have taken it for granted that they're going to get added.

Hand-held lights. When your out exploring around and it gets dark, sure you can waste all your torches to get back but I want to hold a lantern or a candle or something for some lights. That or some kind of bouncy block. Not sure why even, but I want to make trampolines an bounce houses and stuff like that. Plus, they need to bring back the sponges. I liked them when building under water rather than having to use dirt to clear out the water.

I cannot believe no-one has said this simple idea yet.

Seriously, Notch implementing the wheel, and some form of propulsion device, would be a godsend.

Oh right, thanks for letting me know. I'm not as up-to-date with Minecraft news/the forums as I have been in the past.

A monster truck.

Seriously, it would be perfect. Serious players could craft it and the fuel used(Since they burn alcohol, simply throw some sugar cane in the smelting furnace. It's close enough for Minecraft!) and use it to explore vast areas quickly, safely travel at night(Aside from creepers I 'spose, but if they can catch it...), and transport large amounts of gear. Game balance is preserved since it's going to take a LOT of iron ore to build it, and it's voracious appetite means you're going to need a large-scale sugar cane farm to feed it for a meaningful amount of time. Non-serious players such as myself could spawn it via their favorite inventory editor and go flatten some damn zombies, do wheelies and donuts, jump it off cliffs and other such shenanigans. Both camps get some sort of use out of it!

Oh, and why a monster truck? Well, when was the last time you saw a normal truck that could climb a 1 meter tall wall?

Right then, monster truck it is!
That's the best case for a monster truck in Minecraft that I've ever heard.

I'm with the general consensus: we need floodgates.

i will say this again and again, Quicksand, it would be great for mob traps and or secret entrances.
Quicksand, check [http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Soul_Sand]! Put it in water and boom! quicksand trap.

geeez i know what soulsand is, im talking sand thats like a liquid such as water, it flows and is the same texture or extremely close to regular sand

as for items i think craft able spawners would be nice but im also thinking about other vehicles as you have stated bigger boats and such or being able to be like real life

as in wood blocks float and you can make them move through water and if you add a coal powered propeller or something and a rudder mechanism you can move and steer the way you want.

Craft able cannons. I am currently making tnt cannons from obsidian, redstone wires, and TNT.
while effective enough they take up lots of space. And if you make a round cannon they take FOREVER to reload.

Blocks of different sizes. While you can build walls that are taller on their own it would be nice to have a two block tall block.

dams. Now all you need to stem up water is 1 block thick of any type. While this should work for stone and stronger resources with dirt and sand it should ahve to be so thick. like whater should be able to seep through dirt less than 3 thick and sand less than 4 or 5 thick.

Mob attacks on buildings. Mobs should be able to attack your buildings at night. Thus making defenses more usefull and buildings require protection. this would make the first night more difficult though.

If anyone likes these ideas please tell me. I am kind of new to this. also jsut because i dont know anywhere else im currently able to acces please tell me what is verry blast resistant BUT faster to mine than obsidian. That is why it takes so long to reload my cannon. If you can help thanks if not its ok.

I want chandeliers, my house isn't classy enough. Of course, i'd just be happy with some different colored glass, then I would be able to make some kind of stained glass window.

Guns. Shields to go with swords. Portable torches, or some sort of lantern. Single-block logic gates for redstone circuits so you don't have to faff about with building your own.

About all can think of at the moment.
Adding ICs would ruin the fun in using redstone, if you ask me. :/

Anywho, watergates. And trampolines!

Rope and Pulley systems. I need some way to make elevators and drawbridges...
Don't forget ziplines! possibly ships too!
Actually, ships would be awesome! Like sail boats I mean. Not sure how to make them bigger, though, but I do see people build boats using only log (they can't float or move, that's the problem.) Hell, just being able to get a base, so that you have maybe a 2x4 or 3x3 square floating platform to build off of, and you can use planks to make it whatever shape you want, and either add a mast or a motor (either way, you still need a wheel to steer it.) Just that would be enough to make Raft ala Crusoe, or even as big as the Titanic, and still have it float (providing a big enough sea). But I think most players would be satisfied with pirate ships of various sizes.

A block of some sort that when you land on it you don't take fall damage. Maybe a mattress, that's as big as a bed and made out of six wools blocks.

Floodgates. They're doors that allow water/lava to go through them.

I'd love to see some sort of water control system, like floodgates. Or anything else that makes redstone more useful and awesome.

Water gates, so many possibilities.
Or even just a water pump? For a more hidden way of getting water around. I'd love a mountain-top fort with a moat.
If you're into mods, check out Finite Liquid. It's gotta buncha cool water stuff.

i'd like to see any kind of mechanical engines,or maybe electric generators that run on water, that would be cool;maybe they can be assembled one piece at a time, then put together once all the parts are constructed.
