I'm watching back-to-back episodes of The Sopranos. That is a really good show. It's up there with my favourites, along with The Wire and Breaking Bad.

I have difficultys shutting my brain off, i will lie there going off on massive trains of thoughts which seem deeply intresting to myself and not something i seem to be able to want or stop. This usually comes to ahead when i can no long physically lie there.

I get up sit down with a pen a paper get everything out my head and down on to paper explore what i have written even contradict myself. The process takes about 20 minutes but usually afterward i'm able to sleep usually. So far the worst instance is it has taken me 3 sessions of this to get myself right.

If i didn't have work or anything to do i would happily go nocturnal everything is so much quiter at night and calmer :)... although hoovering the flat would become a problem

Usually got to bed around 00:00-01:00 actually fall asleep around 02:00-03:00 x)

Its called insomnia and its a *****.

Also zombies scare you? Zombies are the lowest on the horror food chain.
Theres much worse.
Oh, trust me, I know. It's just my imagination can make something like that horribly vivid.
You're not alone, zombies frighten me, especially the ones that run. Even those Zombie movies that are considered un-scary and silly, I can't watch without giving me nightmares. My brain does horrible things when fueled by horror movies.
Even Jaws, which isn't really a horror movie, if I watch it before I go to bed, I can almost hear the music.

That being said, I'm slightly OK with this.

Had extreme trouble sleeping for the past few days. Various reasons though.
I'm slightly sick with an annoying cold.
I've got lots of new games that I gotta play.
I slept with someone I probably shouldn't have.

Usually not able to sleep until 6 am, and only for a few hours by then.

I find that if I don't close my eyes for extended periods of time that it tends to keep me awake.

The fact I ignore the nagging voice in my head screaming at me "SLEEP, YOU FUCK!".
That and all the good stuff happens at night, so...yeah.

I have been sick for 16 weeks, stuck at home, and only now possibly getting a solution that could take 2 weeks.
I've got fuck all reason to go to bed early.

Sometimes it's a slight bit of insomnia.

Sometimes it's my dad's snoring....seriously, when the man snores it can be heard in every fucking room of the house. You can even hear him outside the bloody house.

Although right now what keeps me awake most is hayfever. Fuck hayfever.

Special mention goes to my neighbours kid who like to start crying at anytime between 3 and 9 in the morning and I've got reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaly thin walls. The only thing that gives me comfort is imagining myself doing this.....

....and that worries me.

a combination of light paranoia and an overactive imagination. ESPECIALLY if I see parts of a horror movie.

Stupid personal superstitions that I can't seem to get rid of, even after counseling. I'm serious.

Some people may think this is stupid (and I'd punch those people in the face), but one of my cats is old. He lives with my parents, so I only see him for a few hours a week, and he's lost a lot of weight in the last few months. He's 15 (got him when I was 14), so it's not unexpected, but even at my age if I let my mind wander over to that I start getting really upset. Won't be my first pet death, or my last, but he will be my first that I may not be there for.

That, and my parents retire in the spring and plan on moving to the other side of the country, and that's a bit hard to deal with, too. If he makes it another year, he and his brother will move in with us when my parents move... but they've decided to take one fo the cats with them, too. So we'd split up the cats and I'd probably only ever see the one they take when I go visit.

My kitties are my babies. It's been a hard couple years living without them. (I haven't gotten any of my own as I always knew when my parents retired I'd be taking mine back... and I'd also feel horrible if I took in new cats while my own were at my parents house.)

... I don't worry about money or bills or health, anyway, so I guess I'm good.

The sound of my blood whooshing through my ears. Seriously. That's why I haven't slept all night and it's now 09:06 (AM for you who don't use the 24-hour clock). I could probably go to sleep now though because I'm so fricking tired...

Another reason is when my brain won't shut up. It'll jump from topic to topic like an experienced talk-show host on speed. Sometimes I'll almost be asleep and I'll think, "Thank GOD!" ... And then my brain hears me and immediately shakes me awake by rushing off into another topic of great interest like whether or not lactose intolerance is genetic, or wondering what is the complimentary colour for green.

I hate my brain.
definitly with you on the overly chatty brain (in my case overly chatty and when tired paranoid and self depreciating) so yea....half the time i keep myself awake coz my brain decides to tell me all the ways everything ive said and done that day is wrong..followed by it telling me exactly how everyone ive said or done anything to is taking it in the worst ways possible)

mostly tho i think thats all linked to lack of sleep to begin with as my job hates me. i work a different shift everyday (4 am till 1 pm one day 8am till 6 pm the next etc) basically my sleeping pattern is so fucked its grand children will walk funny .
