So, I'm talking to my crew at work today, and they were giving me a hard time about my phone. I own a G'zone boulder, mainly because it can take a beating and I don't really care about much other that texting and calling. My prep guy was arguing that having music on his phone is about the epitome of coolness. So, to you, I pose the question. What kind of cellphone do you own, and why? Looks, functionality, popularity, to be different? Whatever the reasons, let me know. I'm oddly genuinely interested, thanks for your time.

Env Touch. I had the Blackberry Storm but and it was awesome but had more than I needed and costs $30 extra a month. They gave me 30 day trial for it

I got the Touch because my first phone was the original Env so I know theyre good phones. It does everything I need and has a QWERTY keyboard. The front touch screen is really cool and is easy to use. The music function works well on it too. It takes normal size headphones as well so you dont have to buy some when you get it, although most newer phones are like that. Its mostly for texting but everything else on it works really well too. It wont be as tough as the Boulder but if its anything like the original Env, which I think it is, then it should hold up unless you deliberatly throw it against a wall.

tmobile samsung T819
cause all my family has tmobile and the phone was free.
i dont see the point of having music movies games and other things like that on your phone.
when it comes to devices on the go:
phone is for calls and texts.
zune is for music.
psp is for games.
portable dvd player is for movies.
Garmin is for GPS
i like devices that do one thing well. not one device that does everything half ass.

Sprint Katana LX
Because my SCP 3100 was horribly out of date, even when I bought, it was on sale for $20, and my SCP had almost no battery life

Nokia Classic "some numbers", I got it as a Christmas gift. Sadly, I can't plug it into my computer, there was no complimentary USB cable.

LG Voyager because I wanted to match my roommates. We all even have the Kim Possible theme as our ringtone.

I have a silver thing that slides, it does calls, texts, internet, photos, music. It was cheap at the time and does what it needs to do. The last three were just added extras.

Also, I was shallow enough to pick a phone that looked good.

I have an LG Shine. Because it looked solid enough for me, and it was cheaper than getting a different phone that I liked as well. I suppose it's good enough. The only thing that bugs me every now and then is the keypad. Tiny keys + larger fingers = not fun at all.

I have a Sony Ericsson C905....purely because it was only only free phone on my price plan. But it has an 8.1 megapixel camera which is good for nights out, and has music.

Basically, I'm enjoying not filling my pockets up with MP3 players and camera when I can have it all in one.

That's the way my hostess is. We were all hanging out, watching the show "Intervention", and we all just looked at her as she was messing with her phone. We're seriously considering staging one for her. And I agree with your statement about doing one thing well, not a bunch of things half-ass.

The Voyeger, although I probably should have gotten the Boulder since I've only had my phone for 3 months, and already beat the crap out of it.

Nokia 3151 and CombiTech IVMS. The nokia, because it's cheap and good and the IVMS because It's built in.

Agreed. Agreed, agreed, agreed, agreed! That's why I can't use a damn qwerty keyboard on a phone. It's like the phone is mocking me.

iPhone 3G, 8GB.

Why? Because after a couple of months of reading technical and user reviews, play-testing with people's phones, I finally decided it would suit me quite well. It does everything I need out of a phone, plus a heap of stuff I didn't know I'd find bloody useful.

I was once one of those sad bastards that got shitty about everyone and their cool phones by saying "If I need a camera, I'll use a camera! And if I need music, I've got my mp3 player! And if I want to play games, I've got a PSP/DS!" but then I realised I couldn't be arsed carrying around all this crap in my bag, so I slimmed down to the Nokia N95, which was a great little beast.

In the end, the iPhone was a natural choice. In retrospect, though, the camera could have been vastly improved.
