I'm definitely a Berzerker. I usually get the starter up to 100 first and then work on another that I find badass until I get a solid team of 6 100s.

A Team until I beat all the Gym leaders and Pokemon League, then I'll become purist when the challenge is no more. However A team remains for human encounters over wi-fi.

Kind of a weird question (maybe) but...

I have been told and firmly believe that there are 3 kinds of Pokemon trainers: Bezerkers (who raise one Pokemon so high that they can breeze through anything without bothering with another Pokemon), purists (who gotta catch 'em all and train likewise), and A Team players (who have a team of special Pokemon that they've been training from the beginning).

I have been a purist trainer since I was handed Pokemon red all those years ago, and while it usually means I'm under leveled by the time I reach the Elite 4 I can generally get through the game without much difficulty. My brother is a Bezerker, breezing through the game without regard for type advantage only leveling.) Now, strangest of all, all the bezerkers I talk to pick the fire starter. I have always chosen the water starter.

So what kind of trainer are you and what starter do you choose?

For the most part i was a berzerker, especially in Saphire because Blaziken was so overpowered. Now i've become a purist. And i mainly choose the fire starter also, why? Because they're better.
Unless you're playing either Pearl or Silver, then i'd choose Tododile and Turtwig.

I was more or less a "Bezerker" player in the original Pokémon Red, but I did find at places that it was just not possible to proceed with my Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard. He was awesome in end-game, but at several points on the way he just couldn't deal with the opposition, and I had to sidetrack or backtrack and try to raise something else to take care of what I was facing.

In Gold and Emerald I tried to put together more balanced teams, consisting mostly of early-game Pokémon that both took me through the battles and cut through the obstacles all the way up to the Elite Four. So I'm likely to be an "A Team" player nowadays, if I ever do choose to get back into Pokémon.

If I ever play now (like Pearl) I am typically somewhat of a berserker and then somewhat of a team player.
I always have one Pokemon who I try to keep at a slightly higher level than the rest of mine; not too high but perhaps five levels above his nearest equal. He is typically my starter and usually my party "savior" if things turn sour. I usually tend to find a certain team and stick with them all, keep them all as equally leveled as I can though.

A-Team all the way! I love Mr. T.....oh wait thats not what we're talking about is it? *Sigh...it's never what we're talking about.

I stand by my A-Team strategy.

I've always been an A-Team kinda person, although I have tried th berserker method before. I'm also trying to catch all the pokmeon (at the moment) and I've seen around 411, and caught around 375 (I can't be bothered to go check). Those include darkrai and deoxys (darkrai was obtained in an event (in Britain) but deoxys might be hacked, I got it in a trade). I like having obscure pokemon, it gives you a nice feeling knowing that not many people will have, it makes you seem special :)P). I avoid using legendaries, they're overpowered, common and really nooby, and make you look lazy and unoriginal. I might use 1 legendary, I just don't like people spamming them.

I used to like the fire starters, charmander and cyndaquill, they were some of my favourite pokemon, but I prefer the water pokemon now, mudkip and piplup. I'll probably choose turtwig when platinum comes out. May 23rd baby!!

Mudkips?!?

In red I used to be A-team, in Silver I was a bezerker as soon as I got that electric sheep that turns into some giraffe.

Didnt play the others, and for some silly reason my starter allways was a female chicorita or a charmander

I'm a fourth type, a favorite lover, I will attempt to use pokemon I like, not just the best. I also favor offensive pokemon or unusual typing. I started with Piplup in Platinum, and Turtwig in Diamond. I hate Chimchar because he is just Blaziken Version 2.

I'm probably a beserker, but I like to have a fairly balanced team of decent pokemon. I don't bother catching pokemon until they get interesting (i.e. not normal-type) and like to vary the types I have available in my team.

failing that, MISSINGNO
But I love Persian! :C

Number three, I raise my team as equally as possible so I've always got some to fall back on if my Pokemon that I'm fighting with gets knocked out.

After beating the Elite Four, I usually go on an epic quest to catch em all! Think I may have an addictive personality, I'm addicted to completing my collections of things!

Team, I always picked Squirtle. The first gym is a Rock type, and you can catch a pikachu early enough to dispatch the second (water) gym. Why make it more difficult?

I'm deffinitly an A team player at the start of the game I catch the pokémon I like best and I train those for the rest of the game. But I gues I'm also a bit of a purist because next to doing that I also catch every new pokémon I encounter, I just don't train them.

While I'm a purist on the side by which I mean I catch it and don't look at it again, I'm mostly an A-Team player with my starter 3-10 levels higher than everyone. No matter what, I go with water starter. My A Team pretty much covers the HM's too.

A-Team. I never bother to catch them all, or many at all- I usually end with 50 or so Pokemon, but very strong ones.

Berserker until I get a squad I'm comfortable with (Like no real elemental downsides), then A-Team unless I get a really cool looking one (I'm not going to put a real name down here 'cause I stopped playing Pokemon after Fire-Red/Leaf-Green came out).

I only played Pokemon up to ruby and i belive i was a little mix between Berserker and Pureist. i would attach Exp share to weaker pokemon then breeze throught the elite four in a half hour with my Blazekin.
