Actually becoming a zombie means you have to be alive. It is an infection that duplicates in your frontal lobe while completely destroys it in the process. Once the infected individual is presumed dead, even though his heart has stopped his brain is still intact which enables him to still work. But because of the lack of a heartbeat there is no need for oxygen. I mean if we're gonna talk about zombies at least get your research right.

What the hell are you talking about. Do some basic biology and you'll see the heart is the method of pumping blood the oxygen is inside the blood, blood itself is transported to the bodies cells where it supplies the oxygen and nutrients to these cells. The brain is a part of the body, not the most important part.

If you think L4D is in reality, please DO SOME FUCKING RESEARCH!

Which is why being alive is needed for the transformation to work. Yes the heart is required because the virus must flow through the bloodstream to the brain which is where the the reproduction and destruction of the frontal lobe occurs. *sigh* this argument has gone on way to long, i'm not saying that ll4d or zombies in general are a reality i'm just saying that if we're talking about something fictional at least we should make it somewhat resemble reality. Coz if you're a human i'm pretty sure the brain is kinda important to NOT DIE.

But to a zombie the only necessity is the brain, it can do well without a heart as it has no need for oxygen. The infection alters the infected individual. Plus you would be more understanding of what i'm saying if you took a look at your family friendly copy of the Zombie Survival Guide. (please note that i know all of the above is fiction.)

Sorry buddy but energy output is equal to energy input, its the law of energy conservation.

The body produces energy through digestion and puts these nutrients into the bloodstream which then allows further chemical reactions and the excretion of biproducts. You cannot suggest that the human brain, even altered can maintain and power all functions of a body.

Why are we accepting the L4D universe as canon for zombies anyway, I always accepted the slow moving nigh indestructible zombies as canon.

Nearly all organs are essential for survival, in fact a large majority of the human brain can be removed and a human body can survive idnefinitely.

I'm not talking about l4d zombies per se, but the original slow ones that only die by headshots. Now if you go and look at the zombie survival guide you'll see that i'm right. (now lets just pretend this little conversation never happened)
