Everything else like "mouse better to aim with" all comes with practice and tweaking.

Lost Planet 2 is the only game I know on consoles that doesnt have aim assist, I mean its their and you can turn it on for champagin but not for multiplayer.Jandau said:For shooter games, mouse offers far better precision. For RPGs it's often a good idea for the extra keybindings you can use for various spells/skills/items. Also, Strategy games of all kinds are better played with a mouse.Malediozone said:Not trying to start anything, but I just can't for the life of me figure out a way how PC controls are better than console controls (as I've been told by PC gamers.) So how is it better?
However, many games that don't involve constant aiming are better suited to the controller. From fighting games, to driving games to action adventure games.
Oh, you're not better at aiming on the console. It's the console which does the aiming for you. Most (if not all) console shooters use massive amounts of aim assist and auto-aim to compensate for the shortcomings of the controler.imahobbit4062 said:Apparently the mouse is better for more precision aiming.
Which is funny, Since I'm infinitely better at aiming on a console than my PC.
this is true, though I do like playing FPS's on my ps3.only1sgop said:Fighting/Racing = Controller. FPS/MMO = Keyboard (Faster response time and better aim). RPG = Both.
And? Your original question wasn't exactly very specific considering you can also use either a PS3 or Xbox 360 controller with your PC. And for racing/flying games, a proper steering wheel/joystick makes even more sense than a dual thumbstick controller.Malediozone said:Pc people, all you've done is repeatedly tell me that the mouse is better for First Person Shooters.
Thats the final point then. The PC has a large variety of control mechanisms while consoles have few.Malediozone said:Not trying to start anything, but I just can't for the life of me figure out a way how PC controls are better than console controls (as I've been told by PC gamers.) you're thuper kewlKonrad Curze said:We have mouse and keyboard which allows for much faster and accurate aiming in FPS. Also quick keys and mouse make things much easier for RTS.
For 3rd person hack and slash, adventure, driving, etc we have the option of plugging in a controller.
Also I would like to point out that with my new Razer Naga [http://www.everythingusb.com/images/list/razer_naga_mmo_mouse_news.jpg] I have 17 programmable buttons just for my mouse... I have played MW2 with nothing but my mouse and was good at it. Throw this [http://www.bigshop.com.au/mas_assets/full/MIT-IDZ-FANG.jpg] little baby into the mix and theres nothing I cant do.
Yeah, PCs rock ass.
In short. We have a lot more options.
Sorry WHAT? who asked about immersive?! Holding a piece of plasitc is no more immersive then resting your hand on two different pieces of plastic. Please explain how a controller makes you feel like you are being sucked into the game?! PLEASE!robobengt said:I used to believe that m/k was far superior, but I've seen videos of people using controllers with speed and precision that looks like it reaches that of the m/k.
On the other hand, m/k might be better, but a controller is far more comfortable and immersive.![]()
Uh wow, no. Just no.xI Kinshasa Ix said:Some people prefer Mouse/Keyboard, others prefer Controllers. Its just preference, not superiority.
What do you want exactly? Isn't it obvious? if the thumb stick gave better control than the mouse then the mouse wouldn't exist and we'd all be using thumb sticks to control our cursors on computers. The mouse give you precision and speed, if you can't work out why that translates into better control in games like FPS's and RTS's then I'm not sure theres much we can do to help you.Malediozone said:Pc people, all you've done is repeatedly tell me that the mouse is better for First Person Shooters.
And you have a right to your opinion. Much in the same way, not everyone will agree with yours, as has been shown here.Continuity said:Uh wow, no. Just no.xI Kinshasa Ix said:Some people prefer Mouse/Keyboard, others prefer Controllers. Its just preference, not superiority.
The keyboard mouse control system is VASTLY superior in many games. Sure there are some games that benefit from a controller, and many games which were designed for the console play better with a controller but as for the merits of the control system itself...
mouse+keyboard > joypad x 50
There is no better analogue interface than the mouse, you can control it minutely, easily and quickly. Any game that requires speed and precision controls will benefit massively from a mouse. The keyboard has the obvious advantage of lots of keys to map. The only real disadvantage of mouse/keyboard is that you need to sit at a desk to use it.
Anyone doubts this I challenge them to an online game of counter strike, they use the controller of their choice (no assisted aiming) I use my mouse and keyboard.
On the whole, FPS, WRPG, RTS, TBS should be played with mouse and keyboard. Racing, Platformer, beat'em ups, and other console type games should be played with a joypad. Of course thats a gerneralisation but its going to be mostly on the money.
