What makes you a nerd?????

I actually enjoy reading (and the majority of books I read were not assigned by a teacher!). My favorite classes are English, science, history, and (usually) math classes. I like learning for the sake of learning. I play video games. I know too much about science fiction and anime.

I've been told that these things (and more!) make me a nerdgeek, but really they are just a small portion of who I am and what I like.

I could spend ages writing a full essay but the essentials are:

- I watch Star Trek
- Play video games
- I'm on this site right now.

Believe me there's more. Much more.

-The amount of time I spend on the internet.
-My lack of a social life off of the internet.
-My desire for knowledge.
-My love of being able to make obscure references to older movies, games, or things the average Midwestern high school student wouldn't know of.
-"Reading too much into things" (If you ask my classmates)
-Reading webcomics (this makes me a nerd in the eyes of some of my classmates. The fact that it has to do with video games reinforces this opinion of me)
-Love of zombies (or the idea of a zombie virus, apocalypse, or other related things)

Not sure how I'd rate on the internet's nerd scale, but I'm considered a nerd by my peers (when I actually leave the house).

EDIT: I have watched every futurama episode at LEAST five times, It has actually gotten to the point where I play them when I go to sleep, just hearing it allows me to picture what happens in my head, and having something like that to focus my mind on actually helps me fall asleep

I play tons of video games.
I have over $1000 worth of manga.
I've watched over 60 different anime series.
I own four anime figures that are sitting on my desk. Hatsune Miku, Mikuru from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Haruka from Beat Blades Haruka and Hime Yarisakura from Yozakura Quartet.
I build Gunpla (models of mechs from the Gundam franchise.)
I'm currently listening to Karma by Bump of Chicken, a song that encompasses the 85% of J-music that makes up my Zune.
I have an encyclopedic knowledge of quite a few anime, JRPGs, Star Wars and Pokemon.
There is an awesome Kingdom Hearts II poster on the wall of my dorm.

That's me. Damn proud of it too.

Bah, I know every lightsaber style, in great detail, and I can give you a rough example of their real life counterparts.

I have half a dozen Zoids custom built models, I know the name of most Pokemon, (I used to be able to do that horrible PokeRap too).

- I own every 4.5" Mobile Suit in Action released in the US, and several SEED and SEED Destiny figures (non of which were released in the US, sadly), and can give the names and model numbers of each and every one of them.
- I spend time researching modern fighter aircraft.
- I've been playing video game since I was 3 (Sonic the Hedgehog 2, natch)
- I love working with computers and other marvels of technology.
- I'm on The Escapist.

I'm a hybrid nerd, a mix of quite afew stereotypes.

My nerdy sides are I play an ungodly amount of games, I can code in at least 5 languages, I have about 10+ books on computing (might not be alot compared, but it will grow in time ), I'm single? I'm quite nocternal and I read alot of web comics.

I make websites for a living.

I'm so nerdy I've had other nerds consider me cool. In fact, I even have fans. oO

I'm the douche who points out when TV medical dramas use incorrect procedures, or when the life-support systems look wrong.

I do maths problems for fun.

I bought a replica of Tidus' necklace from FFX, and drew a model for a working gunblade to explain to my friends how it actually worked.

I can tell you off the top of my head the differences between the types of weapons used by different countries in ancient and medieval history (with a pretty decent knowledge of WWI & WWII) - like the difference between the Guan Dao and the Naginata, and the legend behind the creation of the San-Jie-Gun.

Lots of nerds here, I feel not as nerdy as friends made me out to be... I love Star Wars, but not enough to remember every detail, same of Lord of the Rings. I like Shakespeare? Does that make me a nerd? Oh, and I also play video games a whole lot. Maybe I am a nerd...

-yesterday I was able to refrence half life in a class because the teacher asked if any of us knew what a Half Life was and I responded "the interval of time required for the remaining amount of the isotope to be half of the original amount" I scared the teacher
-right now I can look around my desk and see games like oblvion, fallout, al dawn of wars, command and conquer 1,2, and 3, all guild wars, and orangebox/all half life games
-I have posters of Mario, Altair, and Master Chief
-I'm on this website listing how nerdy I am
-I watched star wars before I could walk
-In 1st grade I carried around a star wars backpack with a plastic lightsaber in it (which was awesome)
-I could do the equivilant of 4th grade math when I was in 2nd
-I always and still am considered a nerd in school
-never had a girlfriend
-I have publicly discussed who was the better star trek captain
-I have time to fill out a list this long

I could list more but now I fear carpal tunnel from all of this typing.
