I have to agree with you with this one. It hurts my soul every time I hear someone say that... Sure, the N64 is old, but it's not retro yet D: (in 5 more years though, it will be >_<)

A few days ago, I offered to give my friends little brother all the episodes of Dragonball Z I had accumulated. Simply assuming that all kids would naturally be exposed to stuff like DBZ and Pokemon, I said "Hey buddy, I've got all these episodes of this really cool cartoon you would like if you want them. You know Dragonball Z right?"

He looked at me like I'd just offered him a full colostomy bag.

"What's that show?"



So, what are some instances that have made you realise your age? Even if you didnt want to?

Pretty much when younger people don't get some of the older references to Transformers like someone doesn't get Stan Bush "Dare" or doesn't know what Kremzeek is make me feel old.

I was talking with my friend's girlfriend a while back, and we were discussing video games. I mentioned the Sega Genesis and she looks at me with this expression of pure ignorance of its existance. She then asks me, with a straight face, "What's a Genesis?"

I have never felt more ancient in my entire life than I did at that moment.

OT: The fact that I can't get into what the kids are liking at the moment, for example, Glee, Justin Beiber, and the Kardashians, Jersey Shore. I just don't see the appeal.

I don't feel old and neither should most of the people on this thread by the sounds of it. But it did hit me the other day when I realise this is my final year of Uni and in a few months I will have graduated, hopefully found a job and maybe even moved to another new city and maybe even started my own business.

Time seems to be flying by and maybe it's time to grow up a little bit, but I still feel like the same little kid who was raised in a small town in the country.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. This thread makes me feel old, and I'm 28.
