This. I remember 9/11 intensely. My younger brother doesn't remember it at all. That day I explained what it was and why it was such a big deal and how people like me remember it was probably the only time I've ever felt old.

(The rest of the time I just feel ridiculous because it's not younger people who confuse me, it's my own generation! Whaddaya mean you starting using the internet when myspace was the big thing? I hit the end of the mailing-list era and grew up on forums!)

ETA: o_O I just realized that I remember when Google hit the scene.

Well, at 23, I can't say too much, but I did feel really old a few months ago when I was walking to a friend's house with SNES games and neighborhood kids asked what the grey things were.

Furthermore, I feel old when I have to actually explain blowing into a cartridge...

When I was a senior in high school, I became close friends with a couple girls. One became like a sister. One I, admittedly had a bit of a crush on.

I'm now 22.

The one that's like a sister now has a child that is almost one year old.

The one I had a crush on I have recently reconnected with. It's no longer a small crush, as she's grown up now and is damn beautiful, and I came clean, told her I liked her, she's thinking about things, and we agreed that even if nothing happened, we aren't going to get awkward. In her words, "we're all adults here!"

When someone I met when she was anything but an adult says that, and when another girl I met at the same time has a daughter, I feel freakin' OLD.

Yet, I still know I gots plenty to look forward to =)

When I sit and ***** about how awful cartoons are these days (With the exception of the new My Little Pony cartoon...seriously, it's what the power puff girls were)

My friends kid sister turns 18 in a month or two...I remember when she was in braces and was shy to talk to boys.

And I'm only turning 21 in July...I've decided that as of July 22nd (the day before my birthday) I am no longer aging.

Yeeesh...I am 23-and a half. Though, I wonder if I really feel old, or just that things change quite rapidly.

Then again though, I do have plans to retire somewhere up in the mountains and live like an old mountain man.
Or feed the grizzly bears.

Old people make me feel old, because I rather strongly identify with old people, for some reason. I'm the kind of person who generally gets along better with people who are either younger or older rather than the same age, and I don't know the reason for that either. Possibly because I was bullied mostly by my peers when I was younger.

I turn 21 in a few months, but what made me feel old was that this Christmas I was looking forward to getting a new watch.

I'm nearly 21

I feel old when playing on the PS3, I think back to playing my older Brothers NES and SEGA and my PSone and how time has already changed.

I feel old when I walk past people in school, like yr 7/8 being assholes and I just tut at them, forgetting I was like that many moons ago.

When I meet people who:

Have never played (or even heard of) Ocarina of Time.
Have never seen Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
People who think that Good News Week has only been around for a couple of years (Aus).
People who acknowledge any Pokemon past 151, who never saw Dragonball Z and never saw Cheeze TV (Aus).
As a fellow Aussie in his early 20's I fully endorse this list!

I'm 30, so... most of the posts in this thread make me feel old.

Hell, gaming communities in general make me feel old... Also, the 9/11 thing. I was driving to work at a quarter to six in the morning when it happened. The fact that some people born after that are now capable of rational thought and speech makes me feel ancient.

This may be a bit UK-centric, but:
- still being bitter about how Margeret Thatcher stole our milk! And being only one of a few of people at work who remember this!
- being one of the last to get actual A-Levels, not these weird AS and A2 thing those crazy kids have these days.

One of my colleagues is 19, so its a constant reminder. I'll be reminiscing about something that happened when I was 11, and be like "Damn. [Colleague] was only 1 year old then!"

I tell people all the time that I feel old because, we adopted my brother at around two, but we've had him since he was two weeks old he's...seven now. in that time, I've seen his first smile, first steps, seen him off to daycare, kindergarten, and first grade and I've seen him teach himself how to ride a bike. It makes sense to me, now, when parents say "the grow up so fast!" Cuz they really do.

Nothing about knowing stuff like DBZ.

I mostly feel old when I get a brain fart. Like, I think something, but then I do something else, and then remember, and feel like an old person.

Yep.

I'm 18 and turning 19 this coming tax day.

What makes me feel old? The fact that I graduated high school back in 2009. Also whenever I meet highschoolers (especially freshman and sophomores) and when they ask me what grade I am in (due to looking very young); when I reply that I am in my 4th semester in college, they dismiss me like I'm an old geezer and that makes me feel pretty old.

Well, I turn 17 this year, so honestly I don't feel old. But I do feel older than a lot of people my age oddly enough. Just the level of responsibility that everyone I know seems to lack, and the ability to be mature about anything... Still I'm only 16.
