They better have improved planetary exploration.
Doing side quests in Mass Effect was a trial in frustration. Why? Because exploring optional planets was mind-numbingly boring. Every planet felt the same with just a different texture slapped onto the surface. You would drive from point A to point B, occasionally stopping to identify a meteor or fight a Thresher Maw. Then you come across the enemy hideout. You would take out the enemies out front along with the turrets usually guarding them. If you're fighting Geth, a dropship or Armature will probably show up at some point. Then you enter the base, which always uses 1 of 3 possible designs. So every planet is identical, right down to the fucking bases. Inside of them you will fight off some enemies who carelessly stand next to crates containing some of the most corrosive compounds in existence. Apparently another trait shard amongst these bases is that they all have no OSHA compliance. Then you'll examine some objects locked up in the backroom. Once you're done with that, you leave. Congratulations, you just wasted 20 minutes on this boring garbage!
Worst part is that it usually takes longer than 20 minutes because of the nightmarish terrain. People often say the Mako's controls suck, but I disagree. The Mako was fine, it's just that you were forced to navigate the most horribly designed terrain in existence. Clearly the level design teams did not pay attention when making these planets, otherwise they would not contain dozens of what I can only call doom pits, as they take 5 minutes to drive out of thanks to the ridiculously steep slopes.
So yeah, if none of the is fixed I can't really call Mass Effect 2 a good game.
