Let's face it Escapists, we may like to be grammar Nazis, but we're not perfect ourselves.
What mistakes do you normally make when you're typing or writing before any spelling or grammar checks.

I'm always forgetting to add 's' to the end of words, whether it's in a verb or a plural noun.
Taking Journalism (as a class) helped cure me of my love of commas.
And I'm always accidently leaving out articles--like "the" or "a"

I have a really unresponsive keyboard, so often when I'm typing on this laptop, I'll miss random letters and shit.

I used to try and explain the situation to idiots who called me out on it, but now I don't give a shit, if spelling and grammar is that important to them, that's their loss.

There's a time and place for everything.

I frequently mess up the way I type things. Lots of the time, this comes from words ending in "ng," as I'll often type it as "gn." There are others, but I can't think of them at the moment.

Also, I switch back and forth between American English and British English, often times mixing and matching the two. That is wrong, and I need to always make sure I'm typing in the "right" one.

I've never met a comma I didn't like! I *think* that for the most part I use them correctly.. but, I know sometimes I don't. I refuse to believe that having 3-4 commas in a sentence regularly is "correctly". Haha.

An actual typo I make that I always correct before I release something I've written into populated areas is that, if a word has a "c" or an "f" (especially an "f") in it, I will type that letter first regardless of where it is in the word. For instance: I would type "butterfly" as "fbutterfly" first and then have to backspace to correct it. I really have no idea why I do that.

I'm sure there are others, too..

Pretty much not double checking my spellings considering my spelling and grammar are already bad!

One of my mistakes I see myself doing is that I might accidentally write or type a "p" as a "b" or vise versa.

Another one would be while using the shift key while typing I might let go a little too late and my words end up like THis.

I tend to be rather thorough in my spelling and grammar checks, so the finished article is (usually) fairly error free.
But I constantly make mistakes whilst typing. The most unusual one I've noticed is that I frequently get 's' and 'c' mixed up.

[sub][sub]I really hope I haven't made an error here. The irony if that's the case.[/sub][/sub]

Yeah, I have this too. As well as messing words that end in -ing - it most commonly type -ign although I've had several -nig and -gin but never with the I at the end.

Also, I have some weird habit of starting "idea" with a capital I. I don't know why.

And I often mess up when the next word I have to type starts with a T - I usually type the T first, and only then I hit space and type the rest of the word. So I often have stiff liket his. Good thing the spell check helps.

Recently I've developed a really annoying tendency to swap "think" with "thing". That one bypasses the spell checker. Also, I have no clue why I started doing that - it's from a few months.

Serial commas are my MO when typing, run on sentences, and ending my sentences with a preposition. What's really sad is I'm easily the best report writer in my department.

For speaking? I have a bad habit of saying "ya know?" or "alright?" at the end of a lot of sentences usually when I'm explaining something, ya know?

The word "the" for me, for such a simple word, I have found a remarkable amount of ways to spell it incorrectly. Aside from that, I sometimes switch from British English to American without realizing it, but I blame that on having American teachers when I live in Canada.

For some reason I just can't type the word "humans".

Every time I type it it comes out as "huamsn".

I have no idea why I have this random habit.

When I'm writing with a pen and paper I'll randomly condense words into one word but then continue with the word.

EX: "And then ew"
Supposed to be: "And the new"

No idea why but proof-reading people's papers I see them do it, too.

I have to make sure I use British English rather than American English. Especially when spelling words that they replace the "s" with a "z" like "organisation"

It annoys when things are written with American English in the UK (Medal of Hono(u)r anyone?)

Also i'll stop typing to think I repeat the last word i wrote when continuing. And I sometimes get stumped by how to spell the little "W" words (why, who, when, where etc)

And I used to be unable to spell "series"

Though this site seems to be less grammar nazi-ish than most others for some reason. Almost nobody types in annoying txt spk. Go you guys!

Oh if anyone capitalises every single word in a sentence they are dead to me. Like This See How Annoying This Is. It's Like Every Single Word Is A New Sentence. Fuck These Guys

By far the most common mistakes I make are going (goign) "-ign" instead of "-ing", the second one is I hit spacebar slightly too soon when typing "the" so it ends up as "th e" with the e attached to the next (th enext) word.

I accidentally capitalise the word "if" almost every time unless I'm deliberately trying to avoid it. Of course I don't leave them capitalised, I just have to go back and correct them. And the words "it" and "in" as well. So basically every two letter word starting with an "i", and I don't know where that habit comes from.
