Well, I only saw it once, but The Mist was pretty dang sad, and for no good reason too. They could have had a not horribly depressing ending and the movie would have been just as good, if not better. But no, they choose the saddest, most pitiful ending possible. *sighs* I actually think the movie was worse off for it.
The book had a shitty ending, or lack thereof. It basically left the ending to the reader's imagination with little resolution.
OT: I'm going to have to say Requiem for a Dream. If I remember correctly Empire online ranked it as the most depressing movie of all time.
I can't watch the end of The Mist, I just can't. Ever. I prefer the ambiguous book to the soul crushing movie.

I'll be a big softie and admit that the beginning of Up and parts of Finding Nemo always get to me. I used to work at an elementary school and I would have to keep busy during those parts because the kids would bug me about it. :)

Star Wars Episode III always gets me teary, its so tragic it cuts past the stoicism and I can't help myself. Heck, even listening to the score (John Williams is the master) makes me cry sometimes.

The Truman Show gets me about 75% of the time. Sometimes I watch it and nothing happens, but the majority of the time I'm crying my eyes out by the end. Its one of my favorite movies.

"I Am Legend" and the part with the poor puppy dog turning.
That just makes my heart want to jump right on out and strangle me.

Or I spaz right the fuck out with overwhelming depression for the dog and because of that I just can't watch the movie even though I love it.
I hear that. Poor dog :(

Damn you... ninja'd. But yeah, awesome film, but don't expect to come out dry-eyed.

My contribution: Stalingrad... (anyone who mentions the English dub, say 'hello' to my fist...)

Children Of Men.
Awesome movie, but it always makes me very sad and gloomy.

The last movie that got me crying was A.I.

Amen! I had to watch it for class one time and I had a hard time discussing the movie the next day.
Count me in this camp. One of the best movies I've ever seen, and I never want to see it again, if possible.

Another one for me was El secreto de sus ojos, an argentinian film. I really was speechless for some five minutes after the movie.

I get sad whenever a well acted scene with some character dies/sacrifices themself with family/friends watching. Can't actually think of the films name right now though :s
